Am I a bit obsessive over little things?

My wife asked me what I was doing last night when I was removing seam lines on a very small kit part.
When I explained she laughed and said that nobody would even notice.

Anyone else here like me?
Seam lines are a big annoyance to me and even on pre-painted kit parts however small, such as we get in the DeAgostini kits, I still remove any seam lines even though it means I'll have to repaint the part.

Am I going potty?LOL LOL LOL

Rest assured, you are not alone. I too see seam lines as an eyesore and have to remove them, with a repaint, of course. I also like to fill the unsightly holes in parts where a screw has joined two parts - engine block, transmission halves, etc..
This extra bit of detail only enhances a model and shows in the finished model, at least in the case of your models Roy. Keep it up!

Nope, you’re not alone! I will leave them if it’s a kit I’m just throwing together, out of boredom. But, for a serious build, perfection is something I strive for!

Best,

Only yesterday did I sand and scrape off the seams. It was the 1/32 scale exhaust system, yes so small and probably won’t be seen, but it had to be done. I have a bit of OCD when it comes to seams, so you are definitely not alone.BigGrin

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I have to admit it really BUGS me when I see a beautiful build of a model, loads of added details, with stunning glossy wet-looking paint - and seam lines all over the engine or interior parts... AAARRRGGGHHH.LOL LOL LOL

There are 2 things in my mind that scream "model kit" rather than work of art. 1 is visible seams and 2 if unpainted plastic.
