Hi All! I sent photos that introduce enhancement of osprey model of DDH IZUMO. This 1:250 osprey model was included as a appendix of No.3 magazine.(No.1) Modelers often think about making the rotors move, and me too. But the smallest motor that I can get is too large to be installed inside of the engine nacelle. (No.2) The thickness of the wall is in the way. I made a mold for the parts and buried the motor with epoxy putty and cast an engine nacelle with a motor. (No.3,4 and 5) I wire the body and wings and pull the wires out of the landing gears to supply electric power. (No.6,7) Every parts were assembled and an operation test was conducted.(No.8,9 and10) The model is put(not glued) on the IZOMO flying deck.(No.11 and 12) A video is uploaded on my YouTube channel. https://youtu.be/gA9Mzhob7YY

Hi All! I received 4 magazines and parts of IZUMO last weekend.(No.1 and 2) The number of the parts are too small to send 4 posts here , no matter what they were! (No.3) This time I sent a log for these 4 magazine's building processes. First I assembled helicopter. I painted black and red on where plastic parts were cut.(No.4) Other plastic parts were repainted. Because the surface is perfectly plastic. I used the same method as warship's plastic model.(No.5,6) I assembled one part of the hull of the starbord.(No.7,8) I have done every process. I noticed one sentence in the magazine. (No.9) They say, "If there are any gap among metal hull parts, you should tune screws and repair them by your self. " (No.10) This gap issue is one of the biggest problem among us, IZUMO's builders. I guess that how perfectly we tune the screws, these gaps shall be remain on the hull. I realized that DeAGOSTINI Japan has no plan for the issue. After reading this message, I gave up the tuning. I decided to use epoxy putty. After the putty curing, I painted only the putty's surface. (No.11) I don't decide to paint all of the surface of hull at this time. Best Regards, Yutaro Yutaro HONMA attached the following image(s): DeAGOSTINI 1/250 the YAMATO, 1/250 the AKAGI.
