I then finished the painting of 2 crew members who will positioned within the bunk spaces. The attached photo shows an officer.

Good evening from 'The Dockyard'.

So this past week has seen the final push to complete the Officers Accommodation space.

The attached photo shows a walnut bunk divider fitted along with a strip of deck plate next to the bulkhead.

In the attached photo, there's quite a bit of progress on show.

First off i fitted a mess table with a foldable side.

I then added the last of the walnut wardrobes along with the two lower bunks, one of which is an Officer's, while the other is a Senior Rate's.

I then made up 2 pillows using a piece of cardboard as a base. I folded a piece of tissue paper onto itself a few times, to give the pillows depth and stuck them down with double-sided tape to their respective cardboard bases. Finally i cut a strip of white cotton, just slightly wider than the cardboard bases and stuck a piece of double-sided tape to one side. By folding it around the tissue paper and the bottom of the carboard base, i could then pinch the edges to seal it all.

The sleeping bags were made from cotton jersey, very thin. Cut to the length of the bunk and double the width, i rolled each one, fastened each end with double-sided tape and then fixed each piece to their bunks using more DS tape.

The last part was to make the walnut locker sides that edge each bunk. When fitted, i divided each space giving me 4 locker spaces using two pieces of walnut.

So this week saw me make tentative steps towards fitting out the final compartment of this build; the Torpedo Compartment!

A couple of evenings were spent looking over photos, pondering, rubbing of the chin and more pondering! I also had to order more modelling supplies, so progress has been slow this week. Fortunately, i scratch-built a basic deck area way back in Nov 2015 and have kept it safe until now, 6 years later!

The attached photo shows the deck area i mentioned. I added a higher side to it, plus deck plate on the tapered sides. In reality, these deck plated areas were in fact lockers and when opened, revealed the stored torpedoes.
