Thanks for looking in Kev. A slow build at present as I'm up to my ears making my animated cartoon film. Bear in mind I have to create 24 separate colour pictures for each second of film, all hand drawn and painted. Anyway, with the Lola, I've cut the doors down and glued them to the front section. The recesses for the handles have been filled and the bottoms of the doors altered as the Spyder is different to the coupe. This meant that the sills needed altering as well. I'll make a start modding the cockpit next. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Many thanks chaps. I want to get rattling on with this one now as it's been dragging a bit recently. The lower body parts are attached to the main tub. I've done a lot of repairs to that area as I don't want to rip it all down to rebuild it. There are a few interior mods I need to make though. The parts are just placed very loosely in the pics to get a vague idea as to where it's all heading. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Excellent work going on here Roy, as always, taking that classic 'Spyder' shape already and very quickly too - well done!
Great stuff, already looking forward to your next update on this one.

Many thanks for the kind comments Kev. The main body parts are now red - the nose section still needs some modding. However, the overall 'look' of the thing is coming together. I need to do a bit of interior alteration but I can see the home straight now. Apologies for the grotty pics - red is always a pain in the neck with pictures. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Very nice work Roy. You need a red filter lens on your camera. Mark

Great to see some bulk colour on the bodywork Roy, really starting to look the part. I'm enjoying what you're doing with this and looking forward to seeing the end result.
Very well done, keep it up!

Thanks for looking in chaps. A few pics showing the front of the car - used a different camera. A tad better than the other one. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Another update for those following... The white stripe has been masked and sprayed. This one is nearing completion now. A few more decals, screens and a mirror... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Hi Roy, What an amazing paint job you've done there. It's like glass. Did you use an airbrush? Stu.

Superb work going on here Roy. It's hard to tell that the bodywork is a scratchbuilt 'cut and shut' job with no filler or join lines visible. You should be very proud of your work!
Did you have much trouble spraying white over red for those stripes? Usually takes a lot of coats when doing white over colour?
Nice job Roy.

My sincere thanks to those following my waffle. This one has been pulled out of the 'almost' pile to get finished. I've added the missing decals according to the car reference I'm using. I'm working on the roll bar - real ally bar - still to finish, but it's being test-fitted in one of the pics. Rear lights still to add as well as the side screens and the rear view mirror, but now not far off. It's been a fun project. YES - It's not 100% correct, but it's my 'Artists impression' of the real car, bearing in mind I started with a box of scrap. (And the glass is a lovely Picpoul de Pinet. NOT expensive, but lovely.) Bear in mind please - the last pic is how the kit is 'supposed' to end up... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Very nice indeed Roy, a fine example of your kit conversion skills and great to see a 'Spyder' version of this car in 1:12 scale. I was just wondering if yours is unique in the plastic kit modelling world!
Very well done!
