Pack 2 contains stages 3, 4 & 5.
STAGE 3:
This set of parts is for assembling a front wheel and hub. The tyre is fitted later on so although the kit instructions are followed here, the wheel was not fixed to the hub/upright yet as it would make fitting the tyre more difficult.
At this stage the wheel was painted satin black to match the actual car being modelled.
STAGE 4:
Parts for the driver's door.
Here, the decals had to be removed from the door shell. This was easily done using a cloth and white spirit.
Once again, the part was sanded with 1000 grit wet and dry and then primed and sprayed dark blue.
The inner plastic parts were also painted satin black to lose the 'plasticky' look of the parts.
Hinge detail was added to the window parts using thin strips of self-adhesive aluminium foil instead of leaving them in clear plastic.
The door parts were then assembled as per the instructions.
STAGE 5:
The parts are for the bonnet/hood and the cockpit centre console.
Firstly, the bonnet is of the incorrect style for the car being modelled.
A vaccuum form was taken from the kit part so it could be easily modified using sheet plastic, filler and final sanding and paint.
This part of the build was not difficult but was time consuming. The end result was worth the effort.
The centre console was put to one side to be trimmed in real leather during the cockpit construction stage in the future.
