Seen for the first time since its sinking in 1915 and 3008 metres down "Endurance" has been found. Approx four miles from its last recorded position.

Saw this on the news last night. Incredible how intact it looks, just as if it has just sunk a few days ago.
They have said there are no plans to bring it to the surface, they are just leaving it in its resting place.

I saw the news on this and it is incredible the shape the Endurance is in. According to the report it is almost entirely above the silt, practically upright, and very little decay. From the photos in the article it looked like the Endurance may have sank only a few years ago. I could not believe how intact it is.

I really enjoy the story of Shakleton and his journey of survival - both he and his crew. This new discovery has me wanting to build the Endurance now. Anyone have any critiques on the available Endurance wood kits out there and which they think is the best?
COMPLETED:
• HMS Victory (DeAgostini Subscription) - if you haven't got it, get it...what a beautiful build. This was my first attempt at this stuff and what a great experience. The instructions were spot on for those new to the hobby.
• HMS Bounty Admiralty (DeAgostini Subscription) - View the build diary.

IN PROGRESS:
• USS Constitution (DeAgostini Subscription) - View the build diary.

IN NEED OF MY LOVE AND ATTENTION:
• HMS Sovereign of the Seas (DeAgostini Subscription) - promise myself I will get to this after I finish the USS Constitution and the HMS Bounty. Need to maintain balance in my marriage.

Hi Tenderfoot,

Occre do a pretty good kit of the "Endurance" from what I`ve seen, here`s a link to CMB priced at just under £140:

Bought the Occre model of her a while ago now, (something told me to buy it), maybe it was the ship herself. ;)
