So, I was looking at some of the paintwork (how can you avoid it when you spend hours and hours working on the lady), and I thought, that could do with repainting - as if I never had enough to do already . . . .

After attaching the ekeing rail to the ship, it got into a bit of a mess but that was easy to redo.

Now back in Greece for the rest of the year, so hopefully more progress as we turn into the last bend.
Made a start on the shrouds followed by the hammock netting.
Amazingly, I'm still very much enjoying it and learning so much as I go. This really is a great model especially for the inexperienced.

Hi John,
Glad that you are back to model making and your Victory is looking a very neat and tidy job.
Well done and look forward to following your progress. I've not done any work on mine for six weeks or so now but I'm virtually at the same stage as you.

Great to see your progress and she is looking really nice. You should have seen all my contraptions that make my life easier 
We are all little inventors that don't get put off easily. I definitely need to grom another couple of arms as it would make things much easier though 
Looking forward to see more pics

Always love your victory updates. Has to be one of (if not THE) best part work ever. I restarted mine several years ago having totally messed up the hull construction. Been looking at it today and its at a very early stage with just the first planking down to the gunports. Really have to get back to mine as it was my focus onto this forum and should a great kit with its magazines. Best wishes to you. Tony Happy Modelling

Just completed issue 92 and ready for a bit of a break to concentrate on some other things. Guests coming out to see us means it’s a bit anti-social working on the boat while they are here!
Shrouds and bowsprit are in preparation for fitting and have filed down the hammock cranes ready to be glued on as the next task when I am back in the fray. Couldn’t believe the hours that little job took just on its own. Lots of touching up on the beak, the sides of the ship and the galleries. Not perfect by any means but there’s only so much you can do without starting again. Fairly pleased with my efforts though. Also painted many of the blocks in walnut stain, something I kept meaning to do every time I looked at them. Finally, had to replace a few tiles that got pulled off when moving the ship around.

Yes, that painting looks amazing and very clever. I never have been able to paint (except by numbers!)
Is that an authentic scene or have you followed another picture/photo?

Yes, I took up painting a couple of years ago. The good thing about oils is that you can easily go back to them after a break, even a long one. So the lady will have to wait for a little while now.

Your ship looks FAB! You are at the same point as me with rigging the masts and it has been quite fiddly. I love that you have painted the wire around the deadeyes on the chainwales black...I left mine gold but I think yours blend in much nicer with the painted version of the ship. I may go back and paint mine now that I've seen yours!
