Hi Derek,

Very nice work neat too, It does take a lot of patience to complete the wing and there are some tricky parts to come such as the undercarriage posts and wing housing.

Well done

Regards

Trev

Hi Trev, BigGrin

Thanks for looking in. Cool

Have seen the tricky parts you mention and will be dry fitting a lot to make sure it all comes together correctly. Thanks for the heads up.ThumpUp

Hi Mark, BigGrin

Thanks for looking in. ThumpUp ThumpUp

Its a kit that needs loads of accuracy when assembling the basic frames so that the panelling fits when you get to that stage, with the least amount of fettling.

Below are some of the stats for the kit to show the size:

1:12 scale

Model Length 760mm. Wingspan 935mm

Functioning items: Variable pitch propeller. Operable Ailerons, Elevator, Rudder, sliding Canopy and opening pilot access door.(If I don`t make any errorsLOL )

Hi All, BigGrin

Gone off line with this a bit as per the instructions order.Blink Blink

Taken a break from the plating, (finger and wrist tendons need a break) and moved onto the wood strips on the fuselage to shape up for the plates on the fuselage.

Haven't pictured it step by step, but have a full pic of each side.

Now have lots of gentle sanding to do, so I can get the best possible shape on the fuselage ready for plating.

Even at this point the jury is still out as to whether this will finish up in Camo or steal finish. That`s still down to how the overall plating etc goes. If there`s lots of gaps and filling is required then it`s Camo finish, no/minimal gaps then it could still be steal finish. My preference is the steal finish, but only time will tell.LOL

Attached are two pics of the fuselage with the added strip wood.

Happy modelling and take care.

Hi Derek,

Thanks for posting your progress to show us all, with all the bits of wood in place and ready for plating, it is so important to sand them flat to look correct.

Don't forget that you will need a Helix Non-skid (rubber back) ruler from W. H. Smiths when you roll down rivets on the metal plates.

Regards

Trev
