It's been long time since I posted here last time but we are all busy :)

I've received my copper tiles and I'm very excited after reading first part of copper tiling instructions posted today. I hope to get my hands on as quickly as possible.
In the meantime I've created sample part of the hull just to check colours and copper sheating ;)
On the first image you will se hull painted with copper paint and on second tiled with copper.
I'm going to paint it with copper paint before tiling so even if tiling isn't 100% acurate, only thing you will see trough gaps in tiling is copper paint :)

I too am going to tile over a painted hull, I spent a lot of time getting the hull smooth enough to paint, even after all the work that I put in, it would still need further work to make it acceptable. I found the copper paint very difficult to use, but as the paint is going to be tiled on I left it at a stage where the hull is smooth enough to accept tiles.
Have you come to a decision on what adhesive to use, I don't want to start with super glue until I am happy with a system of applying the tiles. There are lots of tutorials around concerning tiling but I will stick with the one on this site.

Not been here for ages, sone fantastic builds apeared here.

I managed to get some work done though. Not much, just painting.
I painted lower hull in copper but tiles will go over the pain later on.





As you can see on the second picture the cutout is bit diferent than magazine one but that's my version and I'll stick to it :)
Still need to get some gold painting done on the entry canopies but later on.

One little tip while you painting the model. First I painted whole thing yellow orche, then positioned masking tape. Right now is very important step. Before you paint black just go over with the yellow on the edges where tape meets hull. Not doing it might result in black paint transfer under the tape and tuining your work. Painting it yellow before seals all gaps and then when you peal your tape off after all it looks just perfect.

Been busy doing other bits and bats (on Victory of course) bot I'd like to announce that yesterday I started with copper tiles. Quite plesent but slow proces. I've tried few glues but ended up with Evo Stick Serious Glue from B&Q. Works really well, don't set too quick and with special cleaner you can remove all excess quite quickly.
