Hi All,
Well its taken a little while to get this here on the forum, but it has finally arrived and and I`m raring to go.
I didn`t know exactly what to expect with this kit, but there is one thing for sure (well two things in fact ) one its gonna be big and two its gonna be heavy. To give you a clue the overall height is 73 cms (28.75 inches in old money) with the premium base measuring 50cms diameter. Other details include the lighting of each of the stones by pressing them, each stone having its own power supply and all the fingers are articulated.
So, to get me started I have received issues 1 and 2. I don`t intend to make any enhancements to the Gauntlet itself (never say never though), but there is a strong possibility that the Premium base will get an upgraded lighting system. There will be more on that when I start receiving those parts which, it is said starts at issue 7.
Due to the amount of pictures involved with this issue I will be posting in two halves to save some scrolling. Issue 1a and 1b
Ok, I hear you "Get on with it"
C`mon then Issue 1a here we go :
First the boring bit, Issue 1 parts supplied are shown in Pic 1.
I was going to put a 50p piece next to the main hand section supplied, but didn`t think that would cut it. So my real human hand has been placed next to the part, with the picture marked as to which part of my hand the part represents. Told you it was big. Pic 2.
Two things to note from the start:
1: The circuit board supplied may differ from the one shown in the instructions, not a problem it still fits and works.
2: The circuit board has two tags protruding from one side. These will be the contacts for the LR41 batteries in the battery box. Before you install the circuit board check that the tags are square to the board as shown in Pic 3 or it will be difficult to locate the board into position.
To start carefully position the circuit board inside part CO1, noting that the press switch on the board goes to the opposite end to the cut out in the end of part CO1 and make sure that the battery connectors slide into their appropriate slots and don`t get damaged. If the board won`t go in easily please refer back to Pic3. Then when happy that the board is in the correct position, secure it using two screws from this pack (they are all the same) as in Pic 4.
Now take the two tiny springs supplied and place one over each post inside part CO1. Pic 5.
Being careful not to dislodge the springs place the RED lens part BO1 on top making sure that the fixing holes are not obscured as shown by the two circles in Pic 6.
Keeping the lens in place position the top plate Part AO2 over it as shown in Pic 7. Then gently pressing down the top plate, hold the parts together and secure with two screws as in Pic 8.
Will be back very soon with Issue 1 part b so you can carry straight on.
