Hi All,BigGrin BigGrin

Well its taken a little while to get this here on the forum, but it has finally arrived and and I`m raring to go.

I didn`t know exactly what to expect with this kit, but there is one thing for sure (well two things in fact LOL ) one its gonna be big and two its gonna be heavy. To give you a clue the overall height is 73 cms (28.75 inches in old money) with the premium base measuring 50cms diameter. Other details include the lighting of each of the stones by pressing them, each stone having its own power supply and all the fingers are articulated.

So, to get me started I have received issues 1 and 2. I don`t intend to make any enhancements to the Gauntlet itself (never say never though), but there is a strong possibility that the Premium base will get an upgraded lighting system. There will be more on that when I start receiving those parts which, it is said starts at issue 7.Blink

Due to the amount of pictures involved with this issue I will be posting in two halves to save some scrolling. Issue 1a and 1b

Ok, I hear you "Get on with it"

C`mon then Issue 1a here we go Flapper :

First the boring bit, Issue 1 parts supplied are shown in Pic 1.

I was going to put a 50p piece next to the main hand section supplied, but didn`t think that would cut it. So my real human hand has been placed next to the part, with the picture marked as to which part of my hand the part represents. Told you it was big.Laugh Pic 2.

Two things to note from the start:

1: The circuit board supplied may differ from the one shown in the instructions, not a problem it still fits and works.

2: The circuit board has two tags protruding from one side. These will be the contacts for the LR41 batteries in the battery box. Before you install the circuit board check that the tags are square to the board as shown in Pic 3 or it will be difficult to locate the board into position.

To start carefully position the circuit board inside part CO1, noting that the press switch on the board goes to the opposite end to the cut out in the end of part CO1 and make sure that the battery connectors slide into their appropriate slots and don`t get damaged. If the board won`t go in easily please refer back to Pic3. Then when happy that the board is in the correct position, secure it using two screws from this pack (they are all the same) as in Pic 4.

Now take the two tiny springs supplied and place one over each post inside part CO1. Pic 5.

Being careful not to dislodge the springs place the RED lens part BO1 on top making sure that the fixing holes are not obscured as shown by the two circles in Pic 6.

Keeping the lens in place position the top plate Part AO2 over it as shown in Pic 7. Then gently pressing down the top plate, hold the parts together and secure with two screws as in Pic 8.

Will be back very soon with Issue 1 part b so you can carry straight on.

Hi All, I`m backBlink

So, to crack on with the rest of Issue 1 with part b.

Take the construction from the first half of Issue 1 and place the three batteries supplied into the battery box, noting the the positive sides of the batteries are toward the spring and the negatives to the solid plate. Pic 1.

Keeping the piece in the same position add the battery retainer part DO1 and fix it in place with a supplied screw. Pic 2. You can now turn the Stone Assembly over and test the LED by pressing the red stone. Pic 3. Press the stone again to turn it off.

Turn the stone assembly back over, then you can add the two magnet bars either side of the battery retainer and fix them with four of the supplied screws. Pic 4. These magnets will hold the Stone Assembly in place within the Gauntlet.

Now take the main Gauntlet part (AO1) and position the other two magnet bars inside the the appropriate hole and fix them with four screws. Pic 5.

Noting that the stone assembly will only fit in one orientation put it into the Gauntlet plate so it is held in place by the magnets. Pic 6.

So that`s all there is to it for issue 1. Pic 7

See you all very soon for Issue 2.ThumpUp Woot ThumpUp

Hi all, BigGrin

I`ve been getting itchy fingers after Issue 1, so I`m back already with Issue 2. LOL LOL

Issue 2 brings in the MIND STONE and the second half of the back of the Gauntlet. As in the previous issue the parts are not named so I will be referring to the part numbers as shown in your instructions. Blink

Parts supplied are shown in Pic 1 and the Official Build will consist of posts 2a and 2b

As this issue is very similar to the first, I will repeat the information given in Issue 1 (slightly modified) to save you back tracking.

Two things to note:

1: The circuit board supplied may differ from the one shown in the instructions, not a problem it still fits and works even though the stone is not completed in this issue.

2: The circuit board has two tags protruding from one side. These will be the contacts for the LR41 batteries in the battery box. Before you install the circuit board check that the tags are square to the board as shown in Pic 2 or it will be difficult to locate the board into position.

So to get on with Issue 2a, having checked out the two tags on the circuit board (as above) fit the circuit board into part C02 and fix it in place with four of the supplied screws 01. as in Pic 3.

Flip the assembly over and insert the three LR41 batteries into the battery box making sure that the polarity is correct. Positive side to the spring and Negative side to the solid plate. Pic 4

Position the battery cover D01 over the batteries and fix it in place with a supplied screw 01. Pic 5. You can at this point test the LED by pressing the switch on the circuit board and then press it again to switch it off.

Go back to the side of the assembly where the battery cover is located and fix the magnet covers in place using four supplied screws 01. Pic 6.

That`s it for the first part of Issue 2 and I will be straight onto the second part.

Hi All I`m back,Laugh

This is the follow on post for Issue 2 part 2b.

We start by bringing the finished assembly from Issue 1 back to the work space.

Position a magnet cover (D03) into the part and fix it with two supplied screws 01 as shown in Pic 1.

Now fix another magnet cover into the part A03 (supplied in this issue) and fix with two screws 01. Pic 2.

Time now to bring the two halves of the back of the Gauntlet together and fix them together using six screws 01. Personnel choice , but I chose to put all six screws in place so they were still slightly loose and then finally tightened them from the centre outwards. Done to assure correct alignment of the parts. End result in Pic 3 with screws indicated by the red circles.

That`s all for this Issue. Final image of the Gauntlet in Pic 4 and the Stone lens and springs (used in a later stage) in Pic 5. Keep all unused parts safely.

I`m now at the mercy of the delivery of pack 2 and my fingers are still itchy.

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
