Issue 17

Assembling the Right Leg

Picture 1
shows the contents of the parts for this issue.
Connect the two wheel parts together as shown is picture 2 and secure with 4 x IP screws, picture 3.
Now stretch and fit over the tyre until it fits over completely as shown in picture 4.
Tip. To make it easier to fit over, place the tyre in some hot water for around 30 seconds. This will soften the tyre enough to make it more pliable to fit over the wheel.
Now fit on the hubcap pressing the four studs into the wheel assembly, Picture 5.
Next, fit over the cover on the tyre, note that it fits into the notches as indicated with circles in picture 6. Picture 7 shows the wheel complete.

Now attach the wheel to the ball joint on the side of the leg as shown in picture 8.

That completes this issue, picture 9.

Issue 18

Assembling the Right Leg

Picture 1
shows the contents of the parts for this issue.
Note the orientation of the pieces. Add the lower end cap, fitting the two upper pins into the holes. Secure with 2 x GM screws as shown in pictures 2 and 3. Now attach the other half of the lower end cap and secure with 2 x BM screws as shown in pictures 4, 5 and 6.
Add the white washer, shown in pictures 7 and 8.
Now we fit the ankle structure. Noting the orientation of the two parts, fit the first half as shown in picture 9, making sure the top pin feeds through the lower end cap hole, also shown in picture 9.
Attach the second half of the ankle structure and secure with 2 x BM screws, picture 10.
Finally, finish by placing the two “O” ring washers as shown in the final picture 11.

That completes this issue.

Issue 19

Assembling the Right Leg

Picture 1
shows the contents of the parts for this issue.

Take off the bridge protector plate as shown in picture 2. Now, flex the foot by moving the front of the foot down opening up the bridge. Now fit the stop as shown in picture 3, whilst picture 4 shows it in place. Reattach the bridge protector plate.
Now remove the assembly as shown in picture 5. Note: use a flat screwdriver to pry off the three points carefully. Mine took some taking off, just go slowly and make sure you alternate from one pin to another a small way at a time.
Now attach the base of the leg, from issue 18, into the ankle socket until the rubber “O” ring washers are inside the socket, picture 6. Just make sure you have the right orientation of the leg. Insert the smooth end of the pin through the hole in the outer face of the foot as shown in picture 7. Push in all the way. This was quite easy to do without any tools.
Next, reattach the assembly as shown in picture 8.
Attach the circular rivet to the right calf support as shown in picture 9, this fits one way only.
Press the two snap rivets in the upper holes of the supports through the smooth side as shown in picture 10.
Now push fit the rivets into the holes on the calf as shown in picture 11, and secure with 2 x BM screws in the holes at the bottom, picture 12.
Engage the upper pin of the calf plate into the hexagonal hole in the rear of the leg as shown in picture 13.

Picture 14 shows the assembly complete for this issue. I have to say this is quite big now and has some weight to it.

More leg parts to come in the next issue.

Issue 20

Assembling the Right Leg

Picture 1
shows the contents of the parts for this issue.

Align the holes in the tibia detail (20c) with the lower tab on the knee frame as shown in picture 2. Fix the plate in with an RP screw, picture 3.
Now fit the knee plate (20B) onto the upper tabs on the knee frame, picture 4, and secure with 2 x SP screws, picture 5.
Next, fit the lower leg plate (20A) to the side of the leg as shown in picture 6.

Tip: I found that removing the calf plate, part (19A), made it easier to attach the three tabs as these are a tight fit, picture 7. Once the two parts are fitted together, I then found it easier to attach the whole assembly to the leg, again fitting the tabs into the leg as shown in picture 6 as before.

Picture 8 shows the assembly complete for this issue.
