Ok, here's the other kit I'm going to start on shortly, alongside the Tamiya Tyrrell.
I like to have several builds on the go at the same time as it means I can get on with something else while waiting for paint or glue to dry.
It also means I can leave a certain part of a build that is driving me nuts (it happans...) and work on something else. Then I can go back to the annoying bit later.
I'm aware that this kit is horrible and very wrong in numerous places. I don't intend going mad and correcting it all but I will add some fixes and detail bits and bobs as I go along.

The first bits so far.
All pretty simple but the parts are a pretty poor fit, unlike the incredible Heller Citroen Traction I built a few years ago.

Ok - a bit more.
Following the kit instructions to connect the fuel lines is next to impossible.
It would mean that there is no way to make them a sensible length and they would be protruding all over the place a lot when assembled.
Therefore, I hit on the idea of mounting the required assemblies upside-down on a scrap of wood using Blu-tak, and cutting each fuel line to length before gluing it in place using cyano.
Once it was all sorted, I fixed the central coil/ignition system in place first, leaving the induction parts hanging loose.
When the central part was dry, the two sets of trumpets were attached.
After that, the plug leads were fitted.
I've gone for red leads to add a touch of colour.

Ok, I'm doing a bit more on this one for a while.
I might have mentioned it before but WOW, is this kit AWFUL!
Parts fit where they touch, stuff is warped out of shape, Bits are 'clunky' with lack of detail - I could go on.
However, we'll see how it ends up.
Some of the rear drive and suspension parts now added, and I'm beginning to put the central tub together which is a joke as the parts fit so badly.

Right.
After a lot of rubbing down etc, the main tub is now ally silver all over.
Rear suspension parts and hubs now added.
The springs are laughable - as the kit doesn't contain any!
You get a plastic former, and are shown in the instructions how to wind a spring using thin wire, which they don't provide!
Luckily I have plenty of wire so not a problem.
Just another example of how naff this kit is.

Keep it up Roy! That's a brilliant job on the tub, a perfect metal finish!  I must admit I was adding in 'missing bits' all through the Ferrari build but they were mostly extra details on top of what was already there - I certainly didn't have to add in the whole cooling pipey things!  I've heard a rumour that this kit isn't very good - but I can't for the life of me remember where I read that!   It's looking great so far though, well done! Robin. Everything on the upper side of the tub is scratch. The kit provides for none of it.

As with the 1/12 Tyrrell, I'm back on the Ligier too for a while.
Still adding missing bits - fluid reservoirs at the front - even though they can barely be seen when the model is complete which is why I haven't gone overboard on detailing them.
Still lots to add along the sides of the tub, but much of the next batch of add-ons fix to the floor of the side pontoons.
Just starting to put them together before paint.

All I can say is, it's an 'interesting' build...
I'm moving on to the side pods now as the next bits of 'missing stuff' actually attach to the pod floors.
As the kit comes 'out of the box', the side pods are just glued to the central tub as one big piece - hence no internal detail.
However, I'm making the upper part removable which is why I'm adding the internal gubbins.
I've already found a mistake in the pod upper parts, where it curves down inside the pod near the front.
This is obviously done so that you can't see the pod interior is empty.
The curved part should stop level with the radiator which will allow the radiator supports and the water pipes to fit.
I've cut off the extra 'wrong' bit and added some filler to the sink marks in the upper surface.

It's not going to be a mad amount of detail added, just enough so that it will look ok alongside Tamiya F1 kits. (I hope)
Lower side pods now painted, nose and wings assembled and fitted.
I've made a battery and put it in where there is one on the real car.
A few reservoirs and other bits of gubbins still to add to both sides.

Another great build to follow Roy. You have a keen eye to see mistakes the manucturers don’t notice when it goes into production. All the extra details you add make it much better. Keep up the good work. Andy.

A little update on this one.
I've scratched the first of two cylinders - this one I'm guessing is part of the fire safety system.
I've copied it from one of my reference images.

More gubbins in the side pods.
I've scratched the second cylinder for the other pod. This one is shorter and fatter, and a darker red as per my reference pics.
I Googled the fire extringuisher label and printed the decal.
Side panels and the seat to fit next, and then back onto the engine and rear end.roymattblack attached the following image(s):
