Hi All, BigGrin

Here we go with the next pack of the 1:6 Mustang.

This pack covers Issues 9 - 13 and having pre - read all the instructions I have noticed a couple of problems. One in issue 10 and another in issue 13, both of which I have covered in the discussion section of this build. I will of course highlight these again when I post the relevant updates.

So, to the update for Issue 9.

Parts supplied.....Pic 1.

Take the tyre (9-A) and fit an internal part (9-B) inside it. Pic 2. Then press the part 9-B firmly inside the tyre. Pic 3. Fit the second part 9 - B inside the tyre as in Pic 4.

Now press fit the two parts 9 - C between the ends of the parts 9 - B as in Pic 5 until they click firmly into place. Pic 5.

That`s it for this update (Pic 6), so I`ll see you all soon for Issue 10 where we will build and fit the wheel inside this tyre.

Hi All, BigGrin BigGrin

Here we are with the update for Issue 10.

NOTE: There is a glaring error in the instructions for this issue. The script is correct, but all pictures that include the wheel bolts are incorrect. In the instructions the wheel bolts have been positioned the wrong way round and would in effect point inwards and not outwards from the wheel. Thankfully the part is not fixed and is therefore easily reversed.

In this issue we will construct the wheel to fit in the tyre from the last update, so the parts supplied.....Pic 1 and you will also need the tyre from issue 9.

Take the outer face of the wheel (10B) and press fit the valve (10E) through the hole in the rim from behind. When fully inserted the valve should be the same as in Pic 2.

Take the part 10C and push the wheel bolts into the five holes in the outer wheel, engaging the slot over the lug of the wheel. Pic 3.

At this point the wheel halves are to be inserted inside the tyre and it should be noted that each half of the wheel has two locating lugs on them. These fit into cut-outs in the tyre inserts. Pic 4 shows the outer half of the wheel in place, along with the points that the wheel locates to the tyre insert. (One side shown only)

Finally, whilst keeping the outer wheel part in place, position the inner wheel part (10A) inside the tyre and make sure that the lugs on it engage correctly with the tyre inserts. When happy that all is aligned correctly use 5 x DS19 screws to fix the wheel halves together. Pic 5.

That completes this update. Pic 6. Keep the hub centre 10D safe for later use.

See you soon for the update of Issue 11.

Hi All, BigGrin BigGrin

Issue 11 update time. Cool

With the wheel completed in the last update, we turn our attention to the next stage of the drivers door. Here we will apply the protective strip for the moving window and attach the quarter light window.

Parts supplied.....Pic 1. You will also need the drivers door.

Place the door paint side down on a soft cloth. Take the protective strip (11D), remove part of the backing at one end and apply the strip carefully in line with the top edge of the door. Start application at the mirror and remove the backing tape as you go. Lay the strip flat and do not stretch it as it is applied. Pic 2 shows the start point and the direction of application, with Pic 3 showing the whole tape in place.

Now position the quarter light window onto the inside of the door and fix it in place using 2 x DS02 screws as shown in Pic 4.

That`s it for this issue. Be sure to store the door, window and window guide safely until the next update.

Hi All, BigGrin BigGrin

Well, we are onto the update for Issue 12. Cool

In this issue we will work on the interior of the drivers door and add the hinge, along with the main window and its winding mechanism.

Part supplied.....Pic 1. You will also need parts 11B and 11C that were unused from the last issue.

Place the main hinge part (12D) into position on the inside of the door, making sure the part is orientated as shown. Pic 2. Then place the hinge plate (12C), locating it over the two pins and secure it using a DS02 screw. Pic 3.

Now position the internal window guide base (12A) and secure it using a DS02 screw. Pic 4.

Next fit the three gears, 12B 12E and 12F as shown in Pic 5. Then fix all three gears with a DS04 screws. Tighten the screws so that the gears run easily but do not flap about. Pic 6.

Recover the unused parts 11B and C. Carefully position the window (11B) to avoid any scratch damage, as shown in Pic 7. Then place the window guide (11C) and secure it using a DS02 and PS05 screw as shown in Pic 8.

That ends this update of the interior workings of the drivers door. Pic 9.

See you soon for the next update, where the door will have the interior panels added.

Hi All, BigGrin

Here we go with the last update for this pack. Issue 13.

Parts supplied.....Pic 1. You will also need the the inner door panel from Issue 8 and the drivers door from Issue 12.

Start by making up the window winding handle from parts 13D and 13E, securing them with a PS07 screw Pic 2 and make sure that the winding knob can still rotate, but is firmly in position so as not to wobble about.

Next fit the mirror adjustment lever (13C - not 13E as in the instructions) into the upper trim panel (13A). Pic 3. This part will only fit one way as it has a flat edge. Then hold the parts together and fix them using a PS25 screw. Pic 4.

Recover the internal door panel from Issue 8 and press the lower trim panel (13B) into position, Pic 5. Then secure it using 2 x PS25 screws. Pic 6.

You now need to recover the drivers door from Issue 12. Position the inner door panel and secure it with 2 x DS02 screws. Pic 7. Now press fit the window winding crank into position, noting that there is a key way and slot to locate it in the correct position. Pic 8.

Caution: The next stage is where the upper trim panel is fitted. To avoid damage to the panel and/or the inner door opening handle. Rotate the handle as low as possible, then slide the upper trim behind the handle and press it into position. Pic 9.

That completes this update. Pic 10.

As soon as the next pack arrives "I`ll be back" Blink
