I moved house about 3 months ago so I pretty much stopped any new modelling as I had to pack everything - an entire house, garage, shed and garden.
Ok, moved in now but we are still a bit swamped with boxes and the new garage is a joke, being filled level to the door with stuff as yet unpacked.
I still need to get a new shed/workshop for the grubby work - painting, sanding, drilling, resin casting etc.
Never mind - we'll get there.
Anyway, my 'hidey-hole' is fairly well sorted (if still a bit crammed with boxes)
so I decided it's time to start building something.
After digging through my stash boxes in the garage, I've pulled out two.
The Tamiya 1/12 Tyrrell being started here, and the horribly bad Heller 1/12 Ligier kit. I'm going to start that one as well, so I have two builds on the go at the same time.
Anyway, here's the Tyrrell:

First parts on the Tyrrell.
This is a doddle already compared to the Heller Ligier.

A bit more on this one.
I've added brake and clutch lines which aren't in the kit, and foiled the moulded raised rad supports. Part of the front now assembled.
I was going to tone down the chrome parts until I saw in my reference pics that these parts were actually really bright mirror finish on the real car.

Radiator sorted and front suspension and hubs all in place.

A bit more today.
At the rear of the body tub there are several pumps and tanks that should have plumbing and wiring.
The kit provides for ONE pipe out of a possible thirteen, even though the fixings etc are moulded into the parts.
I've added them although being usure where many of them go, I've routed them into the inside of the tub. The others will go 'somewhere' within the engine but I am still trying to find the actual locations.

Nice work there. I agree that if they have provided the connectors, why not the supply pipework or cabling.

I'm back on this one for a little while now and I've added some of the rear suspension frames and the exhausts.
F1 manifolds frequently drive me potty but these ones actually went together very easily.

Well here we go again, back on this one.
I've added the ignition and fuel gubbins and am about to start sorting the rear suspension and uprights etc.

The engine has been fitted to the body and all the rear suspension gubbins is now in place.
Still some plumbing etc to sort out at the back.
Cockpit pretty much done with wiring and pipes added as per my reference pics.
Currently working on the remaining body parts and rear wing so not a huge amount to do now...roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Here we go...
Final fitting of the bodywork and only a few decals and the mirrors to add.
This kit is YEARS beyond the Heller Ligier in terms of quality, detail, fit of parts etc etc.
Body parts only loosely placed in the pics.
The next pics will be in the completed section.
I will say however, if there was ever an award for the ugliest F1 car ever, this one would be in the running...
