BigGrin Hi Mike,

The leather looks like good stuff, is it bookbinding leather ?? I am after some really thin and supple leather myself for the seats on my 'Wells Fargo Stagecoach', which I will be posting up a diary for soon. Can I ask Mike, how thick is it in millimetres, where did you get it from, how much was it and do they do black or other colours ??
Your seats are gonna look superb when they are finished methinks !! ThumpUp

Hi Kev,

It is 0.55mm they do lots of colours, of course black.

I chose this grade because there is no grain showing (which you would not see at this scale any way)It cost £13:00 and it was from PITTARDS SHOP,
SHERBORNE ROAD, YEOVIL, SOMERSET, BA21 5BA. Tel 01935382741.

you can get cheap wallets in black that are thin, look further back in my build diary

cheersBigGrin Cool

BigGrin Excellent Mike, thanks very much for the heads up, much appreciated !! ThumpUp That is very thin leather I must say and very pleased to hear about the lack of grain, exactly what I am after !! I had seen your post about the wallet leather and was intending to go down that route myself until you stuck this up today, so cheers for that mate. Sounds a good price too, can I just ask how much in area did you get for the £13.00 cost and what grade was it ?? Oh and apologies for making you quote the price again, I noticed after my post that you did state the price a few posts back, just had an ignorant moment !! LOL Blushing Blushing

I'm looking at doing deep-buttoned leather on my seats as it is 'Old West' type stuff - a lot easier than you might think, but it does require very thin and supple leather in something the size of model seats !!

Cheers again Mike !! ThumpUp

BigGrin Hi Mike,

Thought you might be interested in this website that I have just found and added to my 'CYBER GARAGE' ?? :

http://prime-miniatures.co.uk/catalog/acorn-nuts

I seem to recall that you sent off to the U.S. for some domed nuts for your DB5 Cam covers. Well guess what this guy in the UK does them and a lot of other COOL stuff for detailing your Aston - check it out mate, I think you'll find something there that you will need !! ThumpUp
