Hi All,
Pack 4 has arrived, covering Issues 9 - 14. By the end of issue 11 your space station will be viewable on its base and by pack end we will have built another section of the station.
Issue 9 will come in two parts, where part A will cover the standard base and part B the space station.
Issue 9 part A:
Parts supplied.....Pic 1, you will also need the base already assembled and the black handled screwdriver.
Position the assembled base as shown in Pic 2, then add the part "Base 2" as indicated in Pic 3 and secure it using 2 x AS8 screws, Pic 4.
Now put the part "Base 1" in place (engaging it with "Base 2"), Pic 5 and initially secure it with an AS8 screw. Pic 6. Follow on securing the "Base 1" part to the rest of the base, using 4 x nuts and bolts as shown in Pics 7 and 8.
That`s it for this update Pic 9 and I`ll be back soon with Part "B".

Hi All,
I`m back with part "B" of Issue 9.
In this update we start the assembly of "Node 1".
You will need: Part 6A and MS4 screws from this issue, plus the assembly from Issue 8 (the Permanent Multi-purpose Module PMM). Pic 1. Additionally you will need the space station as built to date.
Please Note: In this update we will attach the "PMM" to "Node 1". Now if you look at the schematic in the link below, that would appear incorrect. As the Space Station is constantly evolving, it may be that when this model was designed that this is in fact correct at that time. Numerous sections of the station were connected when delivered and then moved at a later date as the station expanded. This is the benefit of having a common docking system.

Below is an amazing 15 minute animation of how the ISS was constructed:

So, lets get on with the update.
Connect part 6A to the PMM (issue 8), noting that they can only connect in one orientation. Pic 2. Then secure the parts together using an MS4 screw. Pic 3.
Position the new assembly under the space stations central bar as shown in Pic 4, then secure them together using 2 x MS4 screws, Pic 5.
Pic 6 shows the space station in its current format and Pic 7 with the base as completed in update 9A. See you soon for the next update, issue 10.

Hi All,
Here we are with the update for Issue 10. In this update we do some more to the base and the space station.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1. You will also need the base and the station from the previous updates of issue 9.
We start with the base and press fit part "Base 4" onto either end of part "Base 3", Pic 2. Note: there is a notch in part "Base 4", this will fit around the shape of the space station at the point it is mounted. Pic 3. Now press this assembly into the base from the previous issue, making sure the notch/cut out is on the side nearest you. Pic 4.
We now move onto the space station itself.
Position part 7A (the US Lab) underneath the central bar and fix it in place using 2 x MS4 screws. Pics 5 and 6. Pic 6 is just to give a clearer view of the screw positions.
Time now to be very careful. Part 7B is thin, therefore fragile and mine was a tight fit. Press fit the part into the side of the US Lab 7A. Pic 7.
That`s all for this update, so see you soon for issue 11.

Hi All,
Update time for the ISS with Issue 11. In this update we will add the second support to the base, mount the space station and extend the the central bar in readiness for extending the station in future issues.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1. You will also need the base, the space station and the small solar panel from Issue 4.
We start with the second support of the base. There are a couple of things to take note of here, 1: this support is slightly longer than the first (this keeps the station level) and 2: there is not a notch/cut out in this support as its not needed.
Press "Base 5" and "Base 6" together, Pic 2 and fit it into the base as shown in Pic 3. You can now mount the station onto the supports, using the orientation shown in Pics 4 and 5.
Now position the bar extension Part "C" and fix it in place using 3 x MS4 screws, as per Pic 6. Then its time to very carefully fit the second solar panel, part 2J from issue 4, Pic 7.
That completes this update. Pics 8 and 9.
See you soon, when we start to build the next section of the space station.

Hi All,
Time for the Issue 12 update. In this update we start the construction of an airlock. This will be expanded over the next couple of updates.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1.
Put the parts 8A and 8B together, noting that they only fit in one orientation. Pic 2. Then whilst keeping the parts firmly together, fix them using an AS5 screw as shown in Pic 3.
That completes this update Pic 4.
Will be back soon with Issue 13.

Hi All,
Time for the Issue 13 update of the ISS. In this issue we will add the external storage platform (ESP-2 in NASA terms) to the airlock started in the last update.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1. You will also need the airlock from issue 12 and your silver NASA screwdriver.
Start by positioning part 9A onto 9C as shown in Pic 2, then add part 9B on top so that you can fix all three parts together using 2 x AS5 screws, Pic 3.
As a nice cover for the screws, press fit the cargo parts 9E and 9D as indicated in Pics 4 and 5.
Bring the airlock from issue 12 to the table and slide the ESP just made into the airlock as shown in Pic 6. Note: these parts will be locked together in the next update (Issue 14).
That ends this update, Pic 7. I`ll see you soon for the last update of this pack, with issue 14. Store the parts carefully till then.

Hi All,
Well here we are with the last update for this pack. Issue 14. In this pack we will add the last parts to the Airlock, so it is ready to attach to the Space Station at a later date.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1. You will also need the Airlock from issue 13.
It should be noted at this point that there are three 8D parts and an 8E and 8F. These are High Pressure Gas Tanks of which there are four, with parts 8E and 8F making up the fourth.
Start by sliding the 3 x 8D parts into the side of the Airlock using the orientation shown in Pics 2 - 4. Then note that part 8F has two tabs on one side. These tabs go into a slot in part 8E. Pic 5. Position 8E and 8F together and secure them using an AS5 screw. The fourth tank is now ready to fit to the Airlock, Pic 6. So slide the tank into position as shown in Pic 7.
Next position the end cover part 8C, Pic 8 and secure it using 2 x MS4 screws. Pic 9. This keeps all the parts of the Airlock together and completes its assembly, Pic 10.
That also completes this update, so I`ll see you as soon as the next pack arrives.
