I recently had cause to replace several of my fence posts, usual issue, rotted at ground level.I always cut a 45 degree top on the top of each new post to stop water pooling on the top. The existing posts have flat tops. When I was clearing up the offcuts I noted how they resemble a roof and this gave me an idea for the existing post.
I added a small “roof” as a post cap to extend their life, Pic1. But as they do ideas grow and in the end I thought I could make the offcuts into a garden ornament as shown in the attached pictures 2 and 3. Got a bit carried away and ended up with a small street!! Something different, it made the Grandkids laugh
