Hi Benny, Sorry I had to rush out earlier. I agree with what Alan has said, and I will continue with the build. The cannons I have replaced,as you see further back in the build log, plus I have purchased planking in yards approx £15 worth, this replaced some of the substandard wood supplied by Eaglemoss, I have as you can see finished the first layer of planking, and you know what? she does look very respectable she is a big model(1/48 scale)I believe you should carry on with the build,it will enable you to put your own stamp on the model as it progresses I think you, like me and others will make it a far better model in the end. welcome to the endevour build hans, mwg gives great advice etc on this project, one word of caution, here in the Uk it is a slow build, ideal between victory deliveries... but dont dispair, it is a large model when complete and looks good alan current builds

Thats the first layer of planking(she is a double planked model.) I still have to do a little fine sanding, although I am pleased with the result so far. The Bow is a bluff bow meaning it is very flat and shallow as you can see on the photos and I am going to make the Bow and stern out of Balsa wood,I am fed up of waiting for the ply formers to be supplied with the build, here is that Bow:- Thats all for now, comments welcome MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Thanks for the welcome MIke and Alan. I have noted the slowness of delivery and parts as per the comments, so at this stage checking collecting issues till I have sufficent to make a good start. In middle of the Victory at the moment and have a number issues in hand waiting for attention. Make a few mistakes that had to be corrected.(called kit bashing I believe) and want to make a few enhancements such as miniture furniture etc, as she deserves and obviously to personlise, so am quite busy, but will follow with great interest. Rgds, Hans "It's okay to make mistakes. mistakes are our teachers - they help us to to learn, even if it is painfully" Current Build: Endeavour Cross section,D51 Completed: HMS Victory Under the bench: Endeavour x 2,Sovereign of the Seas, Akagi and The Black Pearl!HMS Victory Cross Section

I have purchased the balsa wood which I am using for the Bow and Stern formers. See the photos, one plank fits the stern exactly, I will have to use two lengths of plank laminated for the bow. If the formers turn up from Eaglemoss I will still use Balsa wood:- MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.
