Hi All,
OK, so after a short delay the next pack of ET has arrived.
In pack 8 (issues 33 - 38) we add height to the internal frame of ET (lateral/side chest panels) and get started on the internal mechanics.
Note: I again draw your attention to the screw packs, where there are more than one type of screw in a pack. Please take extreme care that you use the correct screw where needed. I will add tips as we go. Also at the start of this pack, parts are sometimes stored for later use. Keep these parts in a stage labelled bag, so as not to get them mixed up.
Lets get on with Issue 33:
Parts supplied.....Pic 1, you will also need the frame from Issue 25 and the orientation of this frame is shown in Pic 2.
Take part 33-01 and you will note that there is a moulding on the inside face, that indicates which way is UP, Pic 3. Making sure you have the orientation correct, position the part onto the frame from Issue 25 as shown in Pic 4. TIP: Now take the two short screws from the pack (P-PTB) and fix the panel in place as shown in Pic 5.
That`s all for this update, Pic 6. Don`t forget to label the unused parts for later use.

Hi All,
Nice and easy update for ET today, with Issue 34. In this update we extend the frame of ET with the left chest side part.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1, you will also need the internal frame as we left it at the end of issue 33.
Position the leftside chest panel, making sure that the "UP" mark is in the right place and fix it using 2 x P-PTB screws, Pic 2.
That`s all there is for this update, Pic 3. Keep the unused parts in a labelled bag for use later on.

Hi All,
Time for the update of Issue 35 of ET. In this update we will build part of the neck mechanism that will be sited in the central chest area of the ET Frame.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1. You will also need the unused part 33-02 from issue 33.
Start by placing the bearing 35-03 onto the pulley 35-02, Pic 2.
Now bring the part from issue 33 (33-02) and position the previous assembly above it and press the bearing into the frame 33-02, making sure that the bearing lays square inside the frame, Pic 3. Then remove the pulley to leave the bearing in place as shown in Pic 4.
Next take the parts 35-01 and 35-04, the front shaft and pin. Push the pin through the shaft and add a small spot of glue (superglue) to either side of the pin, Pic 5.
Recover the pulley 35-02 and pass the front shaft 35-01 fully into place as shown in Pic 6.
That`s it for this update and the two assemblies made are shown in Pic 7. Keep these parts safely in a labelled bag for later use.

Hi All,
It`s time for the issue 36 update of ET. This update will come in two parts (A+B), with the part A constructing the second side of the neck mechanism and Part B, bringing the two halves together.
So onto the first part, "A":
All the parts for this update (A+B) are shown in Pic 1. You will also need part 34-02 for this part of the update.
Place the bearing 36-03 onto the rear pulley 36-01, Pic 2. Now bring back the part 34-02, Pic 3 and using the rear pulley press the bearing into the centre of the frame 34-02, Pic 4. Remove the rear pulley to leave the bearing in place, Pic 5.
That`s it for part A of this update, so I`ll see you soon for part B.

Hi Again,
I`m back with part B of issue 36.
You will need the remaining parts left over from part A, plus the parts 33-02 and 34-02 that have the bearings pressed into them. You will also need the front pulley from issue 35 and rear pulley from part A of this update.
Please Note: The printed instructions are incorrect. They show a bearing still on the rear pulley 36-01 from step 2 - step 4 and this bearing was pressed into the frame 34-02 in step 1, that I covered in part A of this update.
So, ignoring the bearing, take the connecting rod 36-02 and fit the front pulley from issue 35 through the connecting rod as shown in Pic 1. Add the rear pulley as shown in Pic 2. Then take the PM screw and washer 36-04 and pass then through the assembled parts, Pic 3. Now place the M3 nut into the front pulley and tighten the screw to hold the parts together, Pic 4.
Bring the rear frame 34-02 to the table and position the previous assembly into the centre of the bearing, Pic 5, taking care to observe the "UP" arrow on the frame. Then bring in the front frame 33-02, position that over the longer shaft making sure the "UP" symbol is in the correct place, Pic 6. Then holding the frames together, secure them using 2 x P-TP screws as shown in Pic 7.
That completes this update, but I have added Pics 8 and 9 to show the front and rear views of the completed assembly.
I will be back soon with the update for issue 37.

Hi All,
Time for the next ET update , with issue 37. In this issue we do some more work on the neck mechanism.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1, you will also need the assembly from the end of issue 36.
Start by positioning the pulley ring 37-02 onto the pulley 37-01 and fix them together using 4 x F-TP screws, Pic 2.
Bring the assembly from issue 36 to the table, along with the clutch 37-03. The clutch has two lugs on the underside, Pic 3 and the neck mechanism (issue 36) has two slots near its centre, Pic 4. Place the clutch over the spindle of the neck mechanism, making sure the lugs and slots engage properly, Pic 5.
Finally place the pulley (constructed earlier) over the spindle, so that the clutch and pulley faces engage, Pic 6.
That`s all there is for this update, Pic 7. In the next update the pulley will be fixed onto the spindle and the whole mechanism will then be fixed inside ET`s frame. See you soon.

Hi All,
This is the last update for this pack, with issue 38. This update will come in two parts A + B, where we will fix the pulley of the neck mechanism in part A and then fix the neck mechanism inside the body frame in part B.
All parts supplied.....Pic 1, you will also need the mechanism from issue 37.
Take the mechanism from issue 37 and with the long spindle uppermost add the following parts onto the spindle:
Washer 38-04, Pic 2. Sring 38-01, Pic 3. Washer 38-04, Pic 4. Spring retainer 38-02, Pic 5.
With those parts on the spindle, thread the M4 nut onto the end of the spindle, Pic 6. Then take the wrench provided 38-03, Pic 7 and turn the M4 nut clockwise until there is approximately 2mm of thread above the nut, Pic 8.
That`s it for part A of this update, so I`ll be back soon with part B.

Hi All,
Back again with the part B update for issue 38.
OK, parts required are as follows: Main body frame, Neck mechanism and the 4 x P-TPD from issues 33 and 34 (8 in total), Pic 1.
The first task is to fit the neck mechanism between the two upper sides of the body frame. TAKE CARE: You will need to ease the sides of the frame apart slightly to get the mechanism in place, Pic 2 and also note that the mechanism is angled slightly backwards at its upper edge as shown in Pic 3.
With the mechanism in the correct position, you can know fix it in place using 4 x P-TPD screws through the left-side panel, Pic 4 and another 4 x P-TPD screws through the right-side panel, Pic 5.
That`s job done for this update, so I have added Pics 6,7 and 8 to show how the body frame looks now. See you again when the next pack arrives.
