Hi Richard, I just used .50 black thread but everyone has their own view on these things. What ever you use is fine as long as you like it. Chris

I have managed to get through almost the entire build on the assembly stand they supplied with the kit. It has needed reinforcing a few times over the Victory build (coming up for four years now) and I have lined the edges with furniture floor felt to protect the hull a bit. I am also lucky enough to have the Hobbies Professional Building Slip from a previous era of modelling. This however relies heavily on the keel for support so I have devised a couple of "props" that reduce the leverage a bit. Basically, pieces of dowel with a shaped and padded end to the prop. Nothing fancy. I am sure there are lots of bigger and better clamps and stands that I am unaware of. Chris

Hi guys I’ve been very quiet for the last 2 years with health issues. Crohn’s , gout ,kidney stones. For a guy who had previously been very fit this has all hit me quite hard.Anyhow I’m am optimistic to get back to what I love doing and the old girl has been sat waiting patiently…. Hope to update with some pics very soon Regards Richard Ps I still love all the updates ,some lovely work going on.
