STAGE 39:

These parts are for assembling the rear differential.

Locate the differential part and the 2 x driveshaft dust covers, parts 39D and 2 x 39B.
Fit the dust covers in place at each end of the differential. They will only fit one way.

Locate the other half of the differential, part 39E and fit this in place on the assembly, trapping the dust covers in place. Secure using 2 x AP screws.

Fit the end cover panel, part 39F in place on the end of the assembly. It will only fit one way.

Retrieve the rear sub frame assembly and fit the differential in place over the two locating tabs on the rear of the sub frame and under the front support bar.
Secure using 2 x AM screws at the rear and 1 x AP screw at the front.

Locate the 2 x drive shafts and 2 x CV joint boots, parts 2 x 39A and 2 x 39C.
Fit the boots to one end of the drive shafts. Both ends are the same.

OPTIONAL DETAIL:
You could add circlips to the boots using thin strips of metal foil tape or silver paint.
This is entirely at the builder’s discretion.

Fit the drive shafts in place between the differential and the outer hub on each side.
Contrary to the printed instructions, you will find it far easier to fit the outer end of the shaft against the hub FIRST, before attaching the shaft to the differential.

Store the assembly and the unused steering rack, part 39G safely for now.

STAGE 41A:

These parts are for the rear suspension.

Locate the left rear suspension arm (marked ‘L’) and the two brackets, parts 41A and 2 x 41J.
Fit the brackets to the ends of the arm and secure with 2 x AJM screws.
Retrieve the rear sub frame assembly and fit the upper arm over the locating tab on the left steering knuckle. Make sure the letter ‘L’ is facing outwards on the sub frame.
Fix the part in place using 1 x AEM screw.

Locate the two left shock absorber parts (marked ‘L’) 41B and 41C.
Fit the parts together so that the small rectangular tabs are both on the same side.
Fix the parts together using 1 x XM screw.

Locate the shock absorber and spring, parts 41D and 41I.
Fit the spring in place on the end of the shock absorber part 41D and press the other shock absorber assembly into place, inside the spring so that the rectangular tab slides down inside the slot in part 41D.
Twist the assembly in opposite directions to lock the parts together.

Fit the assembled shock absorber over the lower end of the left rear knuckle and fix using 1 x AEM screw.
Make sure the rectangular tab on the top of the shock absorber is facing outwards on the sub frame.
