STAGE 57:

The parts in this stage are for assembling the left rear brake.

Retrieve the engine assembly.

Fit the pin, part 57B through the holes on the side of the caliper, part 57A.

Fit the caliper to the rear left hub assembly, part 56B and secure using 2 x BM screws.

Feed the brake hose, part 50F under the drive shaft and fit it to the silver pin on the brake caliper.

Locate the cable tie, part 56F and use it to secure the brake hose to the lower suspension arm, part 55C.
Cut off the excess cable tie.

Fit the two brake disc halves together, parts 57D and 57E.

OPTIONAL DETAIL:
Use a fine black marker pen to fill in the vent holes in the edge of the disc.
This is purely at the builderrs' discretion.


Fit the wheel hub centre, part 57C to the assembled disc.
It will only fit one way.
Fix using 3 x SP screws.

Store all the parts safely for now.

STAGE 58:

The parts in this stage are for assembling part of the right rear suspension.

Retrieve the engine assembly.

Locate the suspension arm and shock absorber top mount, parts 58A and 58B.
Fit the loop on the top mount between the two mounts on the arm and secure using 1 x JM screw.
Make sure the chrome mount is angled the right way – check the picture.

Fit the other suspension mount, part 58E to the other end of the suspension arm and fix using 1 x KM screw.
Make sure the dog-leg shape of the bracket is angled away from the arm.

Fit the shock absorber bottom, part 58C to the mount on the bottom of the gearbox, part 49B.
Fix from underneath using 1 x EP screw.
The shock absorber will only fit one way.

Fit the spring, part 58D over the shock absorber, part 58C.

Fit the suspension arm assembly in place by locating the chrome shock absorber top mount in the shock absorber body, and then fitting the locating pin on the end of the arm into the hole on the gearbox, just next to the shock absorber top.

Fit the angled bracket, part 58E on the other end of the arm, to the locating tab on the gearbox and secure using 2 x BM screws.

Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 59:

The parts in this stage are for assembling more of the right rear suspension.

Retrieve the engine assembly.

Locate the control arm, part 59A and fit the ‘Y’ shaped end to the bottom of the shock absorber mount, part 49B.
Secure from each side using 2 x DM screws.

Fit the other end of the arm into the end of the upper suspension arm, part 58A and secure using 1 x DM screw.

Locate the two lower arm parts, 59B and 59C.
Fit 59B to 59C, making sure it is angled upwards.
Secure using 1 x KM screw.

Fit this assembly to the lower edge of the transmission with the ‘O’ shaped connector fitting in between the two tabs on the transmission case, part 50C.
Fix using 1 x LM screw.
Take care here as access for fitting this screw is limited.

Fit the other end of the suspension arm 59B/59C into the two tabs near the rear of the transmission case, part 48B.
Fix using 1 x JM screw from underneath.

Fit the bracket, part 59D to the locating point on the transmission case, part 50B and fix with 1 x CM screw.

Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 60:

The parts in this stage are for assembling more of the right rear suspension.

Retrieve the engine assembly.

Locate the hub parts, 60A and 60B and fit them together. They will only fit one way.
Secure using 2 x BM screws.

Fit the rubber sleeve, part 60D into the hub seal, part 60D.

Insert the driveshaft, part 60E through the rubber sleeve, part 60D from the widest side.

Fit this assembly to the hub, parts 60A/60B and secure with 2 x BM screws.

Fit the driveshaft on the hub assembly into the rubber mount, part 48J on the transmission.
Locate the two mounting points on the bottom of the hub into the two locations on the lower suspension arms, parts 59B and 59C.
Secure using 2 x M screws from underneath.

Fit the top of the hub into the upper suspension arm, part 58A.
Fix using 1 x LM screw from the side.

Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 61:

The parts in this stage are for assembling the right rear brake.

Retrieve the engine assembly.

Fit the pin, part 61B through the holes on the side of the caliper, part 61A.

Fit the caliper to the rear left hub assembly, part 60B and secure using 2 x BM screws.

Locate the cable tie, part 61F and use it to secure the brake hose to the lower suspension arm, part 59C.
Cut off the excess cable tie.

Fit the two brake disc halves together, parts 61D and 61E.

OPTIONAL DETAIL:
Use a fine black marker pen to colour the vent holes around the edge of the brake disc.
This is entirely at the builders’ discretion.


Fit the wheel hub centre, part 61C to the assembled disc.
It will only fit one way.
Fix using 3 x SP screws.

Store all the parts safely for now.
