STAGE 57:

In this stage you will fit more wiring to the dashboard.

Retrieve the PCB, part 44F and remove the wire ‘T’, part 46H.

Retrieve the dashboard assembly and turn it over.

Locate the silver media centre, part 56D.

Fit the bulb on the end of wire ‘T’ into the hole in the rear of the media centre and bend the wires downward so that the lid will still close from the other side.

Store the assembly and the unused dashboard part safely for now.

STAGE 58:

In this stage you will fit steering column cover to the dashboard.

Locate the column lower cover and the seal, parts 58A and 58E.
Fit the seal into the larger opening in the cover. It will only fit one way.

Locate the two column stalks, parts 58B and 58C.

NOTE: they are not the same. They have different markings on each end.

Part 58C has a tiny ‘light’ marking on the outer end.
Do not mix the parts up.
Fit the stalks, parts 58B and 58C into the locating slots in the lower cover, part 58A.

Fit the upper column cover, part 58D in place, trapping the two stalks.
Fix the parts together with 2 x AP screws from the other side.

Retrieve the main dashboard assembly and fit the column cover in place on the right end.
It will only fit one way.
Secure from behind with 2 x AP screws.

Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 59A:

In this stage you will fit more parts to the dashboard.

Retrieve the dashboard vent panel, part 57A from stage 57.

Locate the radio, part 59A and fit it into the slot in the centre of the vent panel, part 57A.

Retrieve the dashboard assembly and fit the vent panel to the upper rear edge.
Fix the parts together with 3 x AP screws from underneath.

With the dashboard upside down, locate the LED on the short wire, 46E and fit it into the hole underneath the radio, part 59A.

Retrieve the main PCB and remove the wire ‘Q’, part 46F.

STAGE 59B:

Pass the LED on the end of wire ‘Q’ through the hole in the rear display panel, part 59E.

Fit the LED into the locating slots in the panel.

Locate the display panel, part 59D and fit it over the rear panel, part 58E.
Press the parts firmly together taking care not to damage the screen.

Pass the plug on the end of wire ‘Q’ through the hole in the lower centre of the dashboard and press the display panel into place in the two locating slots.
Make sure the display panel is the correct way up, as it will also fit upside down.
(How did I know that…)

Locate the radio cable and connector, parts 59C and 59B.

Fit the connector to the longer end of the cable. A dot of cyano adhesive will be helpful here as the parts are a loose fit.

Plug the connector, part 59B into the hole in the lower left of the dashboard.
Fit the other end of the cable into the hole in the bottom of the radio, part 59A.
A dot of cyano adhesive will be helpful here as the parts are a loose fit.

Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 60:

In this stage you will assemble and fit the NOS cylinders.

Locate the three sets of cylinder valve parts, 3 x 60B and 3 x 60C.
Press-fit the parts together.
They will only fit one way.

Locate the cylinder halves, parts 60A and 60D.
Fit these parts together, trapping a valve assembly in the open end.
The parts will only fit one way.

Fit the assembled cylinder to the base plate, part 60E and fix from below using 1 x AP screw.

Assemble the other two cylinders in the same way, fitting them to the base plate and fixing from underneath using two more AP screws.

Press-fit the assembly into the battery holder inside the cockpit section, with the valves facing forwards.

Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 61:

In this stage you will begin work on the main body.

Locate the main body, part 61A and the 2 x tread plates, parts 2 x 61C.

First, place the body upside down on a cloth or soft fabric to protect the roof paint.
Undo and remove the 2 x small silver screws at each front side of the under body and discard the metal strengthening strip.

Turn the body the right way up again.
Peel the backing from the tread plates and carefully stick them to the upper surface at the bottom of the door openings.
Make sure they are the correct way up.

Locate the boot lock, part 61B and press-fit it into the location on the lower edge of the boot opening.

Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 62A:

In this stage you will fit the parcel shelf to the main body.

Locate the roll bar parts 2 x 62B and 1 x 62C.
Fix the parts together with 2 x KP screws.
The parts will only fit one way.

Retrieve the long PCB, part 45G and unplug the wires 47K, marked ‘11’ and 47L, marked ‘12’.

STAGE 62B:

Locate the rear parcel shelf, part 62A.

Feed the two wires from 47K (‘11’) through the holes in the rear left end of the parcel shelf.
The red wire goes to the left.
TAKE CARE not to damage the small number identification tags on the wires.

Turn the parcel shelf over keeping the soft LED strip positioned centrally between the red and black wires.
Cut pieces of the black tape, part 62D to approx. 2.5cm length and tape the wires firmly in place under the parcel shelf.

Feed the two wires from 47L (‘12’) through the holes in the rear right end of the parcel shelf.
The red wire goes to the right.
TAKE CARE not to damage the small number identification tags on the wires.

Turn the parcel shelf over keeping the soft LED strip positioned centrally between the red and black wires.
Cut pieces of the black tape, part 62D to approx. 2.5cm length and tape the wires firmly in place under the parcel shelf.

Retrieve the main body, part 61A and fit the parcel shelf in place through the rear window opening.
Fix from underneath with 2 x CP screws.

Store the assembly and unused parts safely for now.
