STAGE 70:

Door fitting.

NOTE: There may be an unexplained black rectangular part in the pack.
This does not appear in the build instructions and seems to serve no purpose.
However, it might be wise to store this part 'just in case'.

Pic 1: Retrieve the door assembly and fit the upper lining panel 70A, fixing it with 4 x NM screws. Make sure the wire 68F exits through the small slot at the top left of the panel.

Pic 2: With the door leaning against the body, feed the wire 68F through the rectangular hole in the upper right of the main body roof panel.

Pic 3: Fit the roof support strut 70B in the locating groove on the upper body and then fit the retaining clip 70C in place as shown.
Secure with 1 x QM screw.

Pic 4: Fit the door in place on the body as shown with the small hinges on the upper edge of the door locating in the holes on the upper main body.
You might find the next step easier if you temporarily hold the door in place using strips of low tack masking tape. Make sure the tape is low tack.
This is entirely at the builder’s discretion.

Pic 5: Turn the car over and fix the door in place using 2 x QM screws as shown.

Pic 6: Turn the car over again and remove the masking tape, if used.
Open the door and prop it up, to fix the end of the support strut to the edge of the door roof using 1 x QM screw as shown.

Pic 7: This shows the stage completed.
You may wish to secure the lower edge of the door for now with a piece of low tack masking tape.
This is entirely at the builder’s discretion.

Store the assembly safely for now.
