A friend drove me crazy a few months ago with a screenshot of the collection launched only for the UK market.....after a while DeA decided to launch it worldwide and I am infinitely grateful to them.  I think it was the model I wanted the most: the RB19 with which Max graduated for the 3rd time world champion in Qatar in the sprint race. (actually at the top of all is the RB16B with which Max won his first world championship). I subscribed twice, that is, I made 2 subscriptions: I'll assemble one step by step with some slight improvements (if there are any to be done), I'll store the other to make it in the GP Qatar 2023 version (even if it will be very complicated for the sidepods, letter box air intakes and bottom entry) I'll assemble this one as I go and then place it in the living room or bedroom (with the kind permission of my girlfriend) For once I'll start with some references using Max's 2023 book. The quality seems very good, good couplings and good carbon weave, no visible screws (especially on the vertical profiles of the wing). The only flaw is the usual bad coupling between the two nose shells. As for possible extra detail: perhaps the color of the supports between the various wing profiles, the reinforcement patches of the supports themselves and little else. This assembly will help me understand the defects, to understand how and where to modify the second one. The most complicated part will be his livery which is as beautiful as it is difficult. After assembling the first 2 issues, I then put everything in my "sanctuary" of Max for his 4 world championships.              Collection active: Lotus 97T, Audi Quattro A2, Vw Maggiolino '60

Second shipment arrived home. There are 3 files that include the first hub-wheel-front left wheel arms group. I start with the assembly of the wheel group only (file 3) ... quite simple and elementary. But the defects and the shortcomings are quite accentuated. This element is so visible and characteristic that left like this it is not correct and very bare.     And now let's start with the "shopping list of defects/shortcomings" - oversized tire shoulder ribs - incorrectly shaped lenticular funnel - lenticular color too opaque - lenticular support ring details too evident - no tire valve - no barcode labels on tire shoulder - no writing on tire shoulders - no balancing weight on external lip - no Dutch flag sticker on external lip - no wear holes on tire footprint as desired: no tread wear and rim bead too new, in many photos and races it is marked. Redoing the lenticular and the valve is not a problem, now I have to decide (but I think without even thinking too much) to redo the tire as well. Yesterday I started to work on fusion and did a first test with 0.133 mm ribs....from the desktop they always appear huge, but when holding the piece in your hand they are almost invisible. I printed only 1/4 of the tire to also have feedback on the mounting tolerance on the rim, I also added wear control holes to the tire. I modified by bringing the ribs to 0.2 mm Now I am always reprinting a quarter. If the visual feedback is ok, I will proceed to print the entire tire. I also noticed that the profile of the kit tire footprint has too much of a slope towards the shoulder.        Collection active: Lotus 97T, Audi Quattro A2, Vw Maggiolino '60

I've printed the second beta test. The phone camera can't handle grays, so I used the marker to highlight the lines I compared the 0.2 mm with 0.133 mm and compared them with the enormous ones from the kit. The 0.2 mm seem right to me, hoping that the primer and color don't drown these ribs too much A few more finishing touches and then I'll move on to printing the entire tire (which I'll have to tilt): the x and y planes of the print bed of my Mars don't contain this rubber beast that measures 88 mm     Collection active: Lotus 97T, Audi Quattro A2, Vw Maggiolino '60

Stage 4 First part of the front left wheel suspension hub group. The twill weave of the carbon dominates. Two round pieces and a PE strip.....more than PE a real metal ribbon engraved with micro ventilation holes and a metal toroid: they simulate the carbon disc. The arms in their shape are correct, chromatically they are not right. The rear cover of the hub (which in reality is a single piece with the air deflector with the Hard Rock sponsor) is always all in twill weave...when in reality it is a puzzle of chequered carbon with various reinforcement strips of finer weaves. Stage 5 Here the components to continue assembling the suspension group, steering, left front hub. Always twill weave and incorrect colors; but the first mini macro details that catch the eye are starting The deflector or fin above the wheel has various functions, and one concerns aerodynamic flows. It has an open gill in the upper curved part and 2 open gills in the lower area that serve to channel the air where Newey wants it. In the kit everything is closed. The arm that adjusts the camber angle has a cover that reveals the adjustable tie rod. Here the arm is flat and smooth Then the small air intake on the brakes needs to be reviewed. Carbons and colors to be redone. I'm then waiting to see the final part of the hub hoping that they made the correct nose cone with the 3 fins... otherwise I'll get back to work with the 3d. From the various photos you can see that the suspension arms and the various tie rods are all built with a very fine composite. Depending on the light they appear black, in others a dark gray brown, in others an almost gunmetal gray.... the usual trap of the textures like on the McLaren mp4/4. As already said, the camber adjustment cover is missing and the attachments to the frame need to be reviewed in their color. The carbon of the rear hub deflector is a chequered with various patches, here and there and with various insertions of other fibers especially in the cutting area. I'm not going to look at the hub and the disc, I'll cover everything with the basket when it arrives In the meantime that my Mars produces the first tire (I've reached V.04) I started working on the deflector by opening the gills. Depending on the race (like Monaco) they added flaps in the lower part of the deflector perhaps to better channel the flows towards the flat bottom. For now I'll open them, then I'll see which race to christen (which will necessarily be the first part of the season before they changed the side pods and radiator air intakes).
