Issue 39

Picture 1 shows the contents of this issue

Assembling the Base, Back Wall and Grass Slopes.

Using the same method as before, apply a little instant glue to the back wall and base and attach them together as shown in picture 2. Note the orientation.

While that is drying, take the larger grass slope and brush it with PVA glue. Sprinkle with your fingers the grass that came with this issue until it covers the area, pictures 3 and 4. I used a small plate when putting the grass on as this made it easier to re-bag the excess. Allow this to dry for around 30 minutes.

Take the larger cup from this issue and place the two spoons and the fork into it. I used a drop of glue to hold them in place, but you could use double sided tape, picture 5.

Retrieve the “Eating Together” scene and place the two smaller cups on the table as shown in picture 6. Again, I used a drop of glue. Place the larger cup on the stool as shown in picture 7. Picture 8 shows the scene.

Return to the grass slope and using a pair of tweezers, open up the holes where the grass has got into, picture 9.

Glue the smaller part of the grass slope to the back wall, followed by the larger grass slope you applied grass to, as shown in picture 10. Picture 11 shows the result.

Place the Snoopy figure onto the grass by applying a little instant glue to the two pins and slots as shown in picture 12.

That completes the assembly for this issue.

Issue 40

Picture 1 shows the contents of this issue

Assembling the Kite Flying Scene and Potted Plants

Take the small pot and the smaller inner piece along with the smaller leaves, picture 2. Then take the larger pot and the larger inner piece with the larger leaves, picture 3.

The magazine tells you to place the inner pieces inside the pots before placing the leaves inside. I found the easiest method was to put a little PVA glue inside the pot, then carefully arrange the leaves inside, placing the inner piece after. I also cut some of the leaves to make them smaller, so you have different heights.

Picture 4 shows both the potted plants completed.

Retrieve the “Eating Together” scene and place the pots on the worktop of the kitchen unit. I used a little quick drying glue, although you can use some double-sided tape as stated in the magazine, pictures 5 and 6.

Take the foliage tree part and with it face down attach the tree trunk as shown in picture 7.

Note: I painted the foliage and the trunk to give it a little more realism, but this is not necessary, picture 8.

Retrieve the “Kite flying” scene and attach the house into the slots on the left-hand side, picture 9. Next, attach the small tree, picture 10.

Attach the two side panels as you have done with previous assemblies. Do not glue these in place, picture 11.

Temporarily fit the tree assembly by placing it into the hole in the grass area. DO NOT GLUE this in place as it will be removed in the next issue, picture 12.

That completes the assembly for this issue.

Issue 41 Part 1

Picture 1 shows the contents of this issue

Assembling the Kite Flying Scene

Take the string that came with this issue and unravel it from the card. With your finger apply some PVA glue over the length of the string. Hang the string using a clip at the bottom for weight and allow to dry.

Cut out around four of the bows and the one of the tail sheets. Fold the bows in half and cut them in two to make two bows, pictures 2 and 3. Twist each bow carefully and glue them onto the tail, pictures 4 and 5.

Take the kite frame and apply double sided tape to the outwards curve of the part. Stick the kite fabric to the frame and double-sided tape. Using a pin, make two holes pushing the pin through the holes in the frame, picture 6. Cut a piece of the string to a length of 3cm and place each end into one of the holes and leave about 1mm poking through. Drop a spot of instant glue to hold it in place, picture 7.

Glue the tail to the bottom of the kite with instant glue, picture 8. Now cut a 15cm length of string and tie it to the middle of the thread you applied to the kite earlier. Again, apply a little instant glue to hold it firmly in place, picture 9.

That completes part one of this issue.

Issue 41 Part 2

Picture 1 shows the contents of this issue

Assembling the Kite Flying Scene

Take the remaining piece of string and carefully wrap it around Charlie Brown as shown in picture 10. Wrap the string around him a couple of times, then take the string wrapping it around his hands then finally wrapping it at an angle so the string goes over his shoulders. Note: You may want to add a little glue to hold the string in place as you wrap it around the body.

Take the support and glue it into the back of Charlie Brown. Once the glue has dried, feed the string through the hole in the support, feeding it to the middle of his legs, pictures 11 and 12.

Glue the other end of the support into the hole at the back of the wall, picture 13. Feed the string from Charlie Brown into the hole in the top of the tree as shown in picture 14.

Now glue the tree in place, pushing the base of the tree into the hole in the grass and the right-hand top of the tree tab into the side wall, picture 15.

Glue the kite onto the side wall and grass, so it holds it in place. Now feed the kite string into the other hole in the tree, pulling it so the string is taut and feed it into the slots trapping the string. Do this with the string holding Charlie Brown in the same way, picture 16. Once the glue has set, cut off any excess string.

Picture 17 shows the complete assembly for this issue.

Issue 42

Picture 1 shows the contents of this issue

Assembling the Kite Flying and Lake Scene

Take the back wall and attach the clouds as shown in picture 2. Apply a little quick drying glue to hold them in place.

Glue the assembly to the base. Note: The side to use has a hole at the front, picture 3.

Temporarily fit the two lake surfaces as shown in picture 4. Do Not Glue these in place just yet.

Take the leaf sheets from issue 41 and cut out all the leaves, picture 5. Using PVA glue, place the leaves in a random order on the tree and a few on the ground.

I then painted them with a diluted orange and brown paint to give them a more mottled look. This is not part of the magazines instruction and only do this if you are comfortable painting them.

Picture 6 shows the complete assembly for this issue.

Issue 43

Picture 1 shows the contents of this issue

Assembling the Lake Scene

Glue the two lake surfaces in place making sure the hole in the front lake surface corresponds with the hole in the base. Attach the two-landscape parts A and B to the backdrop. Apply a little yellow acrylic paint to the water so it looks more realistic and resembling the sun’s rays glittering on the surface, picture 2.

Assembly the pier by attaching the smaller post at the bottom, picture 3, then the larger post on the top, picture 4.

Now attach the two side panels, but Do Not Glue in place, picture 5. Fix the pier assembly to the side panel and bottom post to the front lake surface, picture 6.

Finally, place both Charlie Brown and Snoopy onto the pier deck, using either double-sided tape or glue. Attach the tree part to the side wall, picture 7.

Temporarily fit the box sides. Do Not Glue these in place just yet, picture 8.

Pictures 9 and 10 show the complete assembly for this issue.
