The Premium Base Part 1

For those who subscribed to the Premium Base, here is the instructions. The Premium Base comes in eleven parts. I would suggest using a ratchet screwdriver for this as there are lots of screws for the assembly stages.

We start with pack 1 where we connect the two parts together, clipping the edges in, picture 1. Now fit the lighting panel onto the eight posts, secure it using 8 “A” screws, picture 2.

Pack 2
Connect the two parts in the same way as pack one, picture 3 and 4, then clip the two panels to the pack 1 assembly, picture 5. Align the centre reinforcing plate, picture 6, then secure it in place using type “A” screws. Place the four reinforcement bridges in place as shown in picture 7 and secure them using type “A” screws.

Pack 3
Fit the front lighting panel in place and secure it using the type “A” screws, picture 8. Fit the other two lighting panels in the same way securing them using the screws provided, picture 9.

Pack 4
In this pack we attach the side lighting panels. For this we attach the four panels that have the same orientation as shown in pictures 10 and 11. Then secure the other four lighting panels in place using the screws provided, picture 12.

That completes part 1 of the Premium Base.

The Premium Base Part 2

Pack 5

This pack we add the side panels to the side lighting panels. Note: There was eight in total - four panels the same, three panels the same and one panel that has the light switch logo on it.

First position the assembly as shown in picture 13. Place the side panel to the left edge, again as shown in picture 13. Secure it in place using type “A” screws, pictures 14 and 15.

Now place all the other panels in the same way, picture 16.

Pack 6
Picture 17 shows the contents, noting that one of the panels has a cable longer than the other.

First, find the side that has the power logo on as shown in picture 18. Insert the switch circuit board into the slot as indicated in pictures 19 and 20.

Place the LED plate into position over plate 3, passing the switch wire through the centre hole, picture 21. Secure the plate in place using type “B” screws and 2 x type “C” screws to the centre blocks as shown in picture 22. Now attach the other LED plate, making sure you don’t trap the cable in the same way as before, picture 23.

That completes Part 2 on the Premium Base

The Premium Base Part 3

Pack 7

Fix the two LED plates into position, but do not secure them in place just yet. Take the circuit board and identify the cables and attach them to the board as illustrated in picture 24. Secure the circuit board onto the two posts using 2 x type “B” screws, picture 25.

Finally, secure the LED plate and the nine junction connectors using the type “B” screws, picture 26.

Pack 8
Secure the two bottom plates, making sure the long posts are towards the centre, picture 27.

Pack 9
Fit the two bottom plates in the same way as before. Fit the type “A” screws to the four centre posts. Make sure all the screws are tight before placing the EVA rubber end caps, picture 28.

Picture 29 shows the base complete.

Pack 11
No, I haven’t missed a step, as the pack 10 case will be done last. In pack 11 you get a new metal pole and a different clamp than the one that is received in the basic pack. Picture 30 shows the clamp assembled, which is quite straight forward. This was just personal preference, but I used the original clamp.

Pack 10
This is where we assemble the case. This is not as straight forward as you would think. First, take off the protective film on all five panels. Before we start, the two side panels that have the indents in the side should have some double-sided tape attached to them. Take off the protective film off one of these panels, slotting it into the base with the straight edge to the bottom. Take one of the other panels that has the corresponding edges and slot that into the base connecting the edges together, making sure the tabs are secure. I used some masking tape to hold the two panels in place, picture 31. Now do the same with the other two panels, connecting the three edges, again using masking tape to hold the sides together.

I would recommend placing double sided tape to the top of the inverted tabs as shown in picture 32, before placing the top panel on.

The next picture shows the case assembled and in place on the Premium Base with the lights working.

That completes the build of Optimus Prime. I hope you have enjoyed this build as much as I have.
