Hi all

I have just purchased a part started HMS Victory, off a well known auction site, complete with all issues (1 to 50 opened, the rest are unopened). on inspection of the hull I wasn't overly impressed with the finishConfused , so I decided to remove all planking and decks, currently in progress, which has thrown up more issues with the frame construction. so it looks like it will be a complete strip down to the original parts as delivered in the issuesCursing . Fortunately the glue that's been used hasn't stuck too well so everything is coming apart better than I expected.

Has anybody got any advice on creating new parts if the worst happens and I manage to totally foobar some parts, or has anybody had the same issues with a second hand model?
Any help would be great fully receivedBigGrin

On another note some of the builds of this model shown on here are very impressive to say the least

Welcome to the forum. I’m not a ship builder, but there are plenty of skilled ship builders on the forum here, and I’m sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction. Not sure what model plans you’ve got with this kit, but maybe you can get someone to laser cut the parts you need from the plans.

You may also be able to get the separate issues you need from eBay or elsewhere.

All the best
Mark

Hi Mark

Thanks for the reply.

I never thought about getting the parts laser cut which might be a viable option if somebody on here is able to help as I cant seem to find any of the lower numbered issues on eBay.
If anybody has a copy of the full size scale plans that they could supply that would be really helpful
Regards
David
