Hi jonny! As long as you miss the ribs you should find there is no problem aligning the top row of gun ports with the second row. Instead of setting the port 4.5mm from the rib for D,E & F, just reduce the gap between the gun port and the rib. Mark G & H so that the aft side of the ports are against ribs 28 and 30. Leave cutting out the timber heads till last then strengthen them straight away.

Hi Johnny,
I had exactly the same problem & did as SOB suggested & moved them towards the rib.
Once the bulwarks are planked it looks fine & better than having the mis-alignment.
