STAGE 51:

Function test and frame reinforcement.

Pic 1: MAKE SURE YOU CONNECT THE BATTERY BOX PLUG ‘B’ TO THE SOCKET ‘B’ ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAR FRAME.
Put batteries in the car and remote control and test the different functions.
The printed instructions also give a clear guide to how things should work.
After testing remove all batteries.

Pic 2: Fit the reinforcing bar 51A to the main frame as shown.

Pic 3: Holding the part in place, turn the model over and fix the parts using 3 x AM screws where indicated.

Pic 4: Store everything safely for now.

STAGE 52A:

Wiring.

Pic 1: Connect the wire 51C saved from stage 51 to the socket shown on the PCB 52C.

Pic 2: Connect plug ‘G’ to the socket ‘G’ on the main PCB.

Pic 3: Locate wire 52B (‘H’) and connect the plug to socket ‘H’ on the main PCB.

Pic 4: Gather together the wires ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘G’.
Tape them together with masking tape as shown for now.

Pic 5: Gather together the wires ‘C’, ‘D’, ‘J’ and ‘K’.
Tape them together with masking tape as shown for now.

Pic 6: Gather together the wires ‘E’, ‘F’, ‘H’ and ‘I’.
Tape them together with masking tape as shown for now.

STAGE 52B:

Pic 7: Pass the first set of wires ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘G’ through the frame as shown.

Pic 8: Feed the other sets of wires out of the tank in the slots as shown.

Pic 9: Fit the tank lid 47A in place.

Pic 10: Fix from underneath with 3 x AP screws

Pic 11: Fit the cross-bar 51B saved from stage 51 in place as shown and fix with 1 x AM screw at each end.

You can now re-test all functions again if you wish.

Store the model safely for now.

STAGE 53A:

Rear body.

Pic 1: Fit the 2 x clips 53C to either side or the rear frame 53A, using the lower pairs of holes. Note the clips are sideways with the longer sloping sides inside.
Fix with 1 x QM screw in each.

Pic 2: Detail of the left side.

Pic 3: Detail of the right side.

Pic 4: Fit the 2 x clips 53C to either side or the rear frame 53A, using the upper pairs of holes. Note the clips are vertical with the longer sloping sides at the top.
Fix with 1 x QM screw in each.

Pic 5: Detail of the right side.

Pic 6: Fit 1 x retaining strap 43D into each of the lower brackets as shown. Fix from below with 1 x AJP screw in each.

STAGE 53B:

Pic 7: Fit 1 x retaining strap 43D into each of the other brackets as shown. Fix from the outside with 1 x AJP screw in each.

Pic 8: Retrieve the main engine and frame assembly and fit the new rear panel in place as shown.
Fix through the side frame with 2 x TM screws.

Pic 9: Fix the other side in the same way.

Pic 10: Turn the assembly over and fix using another 2 x TM screws.

Pic 11: Fit the 2 x brackets 53B to the panel as shown and fix from the inside using 1 x QM screw in each.

Pic 12: Fit the left bulkhead panel 53E to the left side of the engine frame and fix with 5 x QM screws.

Pic 13: Store the model and unused panel safely for now.

STAGE 54:

Alternator.

Pic 1: Fit the two alternator air intake parts 54F and 54G together.

Pic 2: Fit the alternator body 54E as shown.

Pic 3: Fit the alternator base 54 D in place.
It will only fit one way.

Pic 4: Locate the pulley parts 54I and 54H, and 1 x AP screw.

Pic 5: Fix the parts together as shown.

Pic 6: Fit the connector 54J in place.
You might find it to be a loose fit so you may wish to use some adhesive.
This is at the builder’s discretion.

Pic 7: Cut 2 x pieces of 70mm pipe from 54L.

Pic 8: Fit the pipes to the two pins indicated.

Pic 9: Retrieve the frame 43A and press-fit the pipe 54C into place as shown.

Pic 10: Fit the alternator assembly to the frame and fix with 1 x AM screw.

Pic 11: Store the parts safely.
