STAGE 49:

Spare wheel.

Pic 1: Soak the tyre 49A in hot water for around 30 seconds.
Take care here.

Pic 2: Using tongs, remove the tyre from the hot water and dry it.

Pic 3: Lay the tyre on a firm surface and put the wheel 49B on top.
Using firm pressure, push down on the wheel to fit it into the tyre.

Pic 4: Shows the wheel/tyre assembled.

Pic 5: Retrieve the engine/chassis assembly and fit the spare wheel in place as shown.
Pull the fixing straps in place and hook them together.

If you find your straps are too loose, using long nose pliers or tweezers, pull the end of the yellow strap through the bracket where indicated.
You may need to loosen the bracket screw to do this.
DO NOT pull the straps too tight.


In this build, the spare wheel will be removed until near the end due to the model potentially needing turning over for work underneath in the future.

Store the model safely.

STAGE 50:

Headlight electrics.

Pic 1: Locate the three sets of wires shown.
They are numbered ‘5’, ‘10’ and ‘11’ on the plugs.

Pic 2: Locate the PCB 50A and fit plug ‘10’ into the matching socket as shown.
The plug will only fit one way.

Pic 3: Fit plug ‘5’ into the matching socket as shown.
The plug will only fit one way.

Pic 4: Fit plug ‘11’ into the matching socket as shown.
The plug will only fit one way.

Pic 5: Locate the PCB 50E and fit plug ‘4’ into the matching socket as shown.
The plug will only fit one way.

Pic 6: Store the parts safely for now.

STAGE 51:

Electrics.

Pic 1: Locate the control box 51A and fit the switch 51B as shown, noting the position/colour of the wires.
Fix using 2 x SP screws.

Pic 2: Detail of wire positions.

Pic 3: Retrieve the PCB from the last stage and connect the switch to socket ‘2’.

Pic 4: Connect the battery wire marked ‘3’ on the plug, to socket ‘3’ on the PCB.

Pic 5: Plug the speaker 51D into the socket marked ‘1’.

Pic 6: Store all the parts safely.

STAGE 52:

Remote control unit.

Pic 1: Locate the body 52A and keypad 52E. The keypad will fit inside the body.

Pic 2: Parts assembled.

Pic 3: Fit the PCB 52D inside as shown.
It will only fit one way.

Pic 4: Clip-fit the remote control back 52B in place.

Pic 5: The battery holder 52C will fit this way round.

Pic 6: Shows the completed unit.

Store safely for now.

Pic 7: The functions of the various controls.

STAGE 53:

Rear light electrics.

Pic 1: Locate the 4 x wire groups, numbered 6, 7, 8 & 9 on the white plugs.

Pic 2: Retrieve the PCB from stage 51 and connect the plug ‘7’ to the number 7 socket.

Pic 3: Connect the plug ‘8’ to the number 8 socket.

Pic 4: Connect the plug ‘9’ to the number 9 socket.

Pic 5: Connect the plug ‘6’ to the number 6 socket.

Pic 6: Retrieve the main car assembly and fit the PCB to the rear wall 34A as shown and fix with 4 x SM screws.

You can now fit batteries to the remote control and the battery box to test the functions.
Use the printed instructions as a guide.

Store the model safely for now.

STAGE 54:

Gear lever and interior parts.

Pic 1: Fit the foot rest 54B onto the floor and fix with 1 x AP screw from underneath.

OPTIONAL DETAIL: You could colour the ‘holes’ in the foot rest black with a fine marker pen for a little added detail.
This is at the builder’s discretion.


Pic 2: Press-fit the gear lever 54G into the two locating holes indicated.

Pic 3: Press-fit the pump 54E in place as shown.

Pic 4: Fit the co-driver’s foot rest 54C as shown and fix with 2 x ZP screws.

Pic 5: Fit the tank cap 54F into the tank 54D.

Pic 6: Position the tank on the floor as shown.

Pic 7: Fix from underneath with 2 x AP screws.

Store the assembly safely.

STAGE 55:

Battery and fire extinguisher.

Pic 1: Press-fit the brake distributor pump parts 55B and 55C together as shown.

Pic 2: Press-fit the pump in place on the floor panel.

Pic 3: Press-fit the control box 55A in place as shown.

Pic 4: Locate the two parts of the fire extinguisher 55D and 55E.
They will press-fit together.

Pic 5: Parts assembled.

Pic 6: Fit the fire extinguisher in place as indicated.

Pic 7: Press-fit the battery parts 55F and 55G together
.
Pic 8: Fit the battery to the rear of the floor as shown and fix from underneath with 2 x AP screws.

Store the assembly safely.

STAGE 56:

Seat and harness.

Pic 1: Fit the short strap 56D through the bracket 56B and stick a self-adhesive strip 56G to each end as shown.

Pic 2: Peel the backing from one of the strips and stick the strap firmly over the bracket.

Pic 3: Fit the buckle 56 F onto the strap.

Pic 4: Peel the backing from the other strip and stick the strap firmly over the buckle as shown.

Pic 5: Pass the long strap 56C through the buckle and attach a self-adhesive strip 56G to the end as shown.

Pic 6: Peel the backing from the strip and stick the strap firmly over the buckle.

Pic 7: Stick a self-adhesive strip to the other end of the long strap.

Pic 8: Using sharp scissors or knife cut a ‘V’ into the end of the strap.

Pic 9: Fit the two ends of the ‘V’ through the slots in the buckle 56E and peel off the backing from the self-adhesive strips.
Fold the ends firmly over the buckle and stick them down.

Pic 10: Retrieve the floor panel and fit the strap bracket in place as shown, fixing it underneath with 1 x AP screw.

Pic 11: Store the assembly and seat safely for now.
