STAGE 57:

Chassis frames.

Pic 1: NOTE: The printed instructions tell you to check the large end of the engine mount is facing rear – circled.
The previous printed instructions for this part were incorrect but if you have been following this build you will have fitted the part correctly.

Locate the frame part 57A.

Pic 2: A close up of the correctly fitted engine mount.

Pic 3: Fit the frame 57A as shown and fix at the rear with 1 x AM screw.

Pic 4: Fit the frame 57B on the other side in the same way and fix at the rear with 1 x AM screw.

Pic 5: Store the parts safely for now.

STAGE 58:

Chassis frames 2.

NOTE: It is strongly advised that you DO NOT build this stage until AFTER stage 62, when the exhausts will be fitted.
If you build this stage now, you will need to remove the parts again or you will find it almost impossible to attach the manifolds to the engine.
This is at the builder’s discretion.

Pic 1: Locate arm 58A. You will see that one end has a small ‘L’ on it.

Pic 2: Fit the bracket 58B to the end of the arm with the ‘L’, noting the slight angle on each end of the arm 58A.
This is important.
Fix the parts with 1 x ABM screw.

Take care here as the screws in this build stage are a tight fit and you may need to tap or enlarge all the holes.

Pic 3: Retrieve the engine assembly and fit the arm in place as shown, fixing it with 1 x BM screw next to the bottom of the shock absorber.
The arm should be angled in, towards the engine.

Pic 4: Fit the short arm 58C to one end of the arm 58D as shown, taking note again of the angle of the parts.
Fix with 1 x ABM screw.

Pic 5: Fit the end of the arm 58D to the top of the rear hub and fix with 1 x BM screw.
Fit the end of the shorter arm 58C to the engine mount – circled – and fix with 1 x AM screw.

The next steps can be done now if you wish.

Pic 6: Fit the connector 58E to the end of the pipe 58F as shown.

Pic 7: Retrieve the central frame assembly and fit the pipe 58F as shown, passing it under the alternator.

Pic 8: Retrieve hose 57C from the previous stage and fit it to the pipe end as shown.

Store the model safely.

NOTE: As with stage 58, it is strongly advised that you DO NOT build this stage until AFTER stage 62, when the exhausts will be fitted.
If you build this stage now, you will need to remove the parts again or you will find it almost impossible to attach the manifolds to the engine.
This is at the builder’s discretion.

Pic 1: Fit the bracket 59B to the end of the arm 59A, noting the slight angle on each end of the arm.
This is important.
Fix the parts with 1 x ABM screw.
Take care here as the screws in this build stage are a tight fit and you may need to tap or enlarge all the holes.

Pic 2: Detail of the fixing.

Pic 3: Retrieve the engine, noting where the arm will fit.

Pic 4: Fit the arm as shown and fix with 1 x BM screw.

Pic 5: Fit the short arm 59C to one end of the arm 59D as shown, taking note again of the angle of the parts.
Fix with 1 x ABM screw.

Pic 6: Fit the end of the arm 59D to the top of the rear hub and fix with 1 x BM screw.
Fit the end of the shorter arm 59C to the engine mount and fix with 1 x AM screw.

Pic 7: Detail of the engine mount fixing.

Pic 8: Locate the gear rod 59E.
It will fit in the direction shown.

Pic 9: Feed the gear rod through the suspension so that the rear end will connect to the gear selector bracket.
The front end will attach to the end of the previously fitted suspension arm.

Pic 10: Fix at the rear with 1 x BM screw.

STAGE 62A:

Fitting the exhausts.

NOTE: If you fitted the suspension parts in stages 58 and 59 you will find fitting the exhausts to the engine almost impossible.
Working on one side at a time, you will find it easier to remove the suspension parts, keeping them and the screws safely to one side and then re-fitting them after the exhaust is fitted.
This is entirely at the builder’s discretion.
The assembly here shows the suspension parts removed and re-fitted afterwards.

Pic 1: Retrieve the engine assembly and fit the bracket 60J to the hanger 53B using 1 x AQM screw.

Pic 2: This shows the suspension parts highlighted in yellow that you can remove to make the following steps easier.
As already stated, this is at the builder’s discretion.
DO NOT lose any parts or fixing screws.

Pic 3: Fit the exhaust in place and secure the hanger 60G to the bracket 16A with 1 x QM screw.

Pic 4: From underneath, fix the end of the exhaust with 1 x MP screw.

Pic 5: Fit the front manifold to the engine and secure with 1 x MP screw.

Pic 6: Detail of the fixing.
