The Torso Part 2

Remove the central abdominal plate from the front of the torso. Turn the assembly over and route cables 9 and 10 through the hole as shown in picture 11. Turn the assembly over and carefully connect the cables into the circuit board in their respective numbered connectors, picture 12.

Place the front of the body on a soft cloth, to avoid scratching the model. Place the support for the spider legs into the front torso as shown in pictures 13 and 14.

Prepare the four type N bolts and thread a serrated washer over each one, picture 15.

Turn the assembly over and place the four bolts as shown in picture 16, tightening them using the M4 allen wrench.

Place the central chest plate by pushing the two pins, picture 17.

At the base of the front part of the body place an M3 hex nut in each of the holes and cover with one of the three smaller pressure caps. Secure them in place using an E type screw for the end ones and a W type screw for the middle one, pictures 18, 19 and 20.

Retrieve the back torso assembly, and on the inside of the lower back, place the larger pressure cap and straight sided pressure cap in the same way as you did before, pictures 21 and 22.

That completes the assembly for part 2 of this issue.

The Torso and the Head Part 1

Picture 1 shows the contents of this issue.

Begin by testing the two side LED circuits using the battery box and test plate from issue 2, picture 2.

Retrieve the front body assembly, issue 51, and the head assembly from issue 38. On the inside of the head locate the holes to fit the head noting the angle necessary to fit it. Secure it in place using two type G screws, picture 3. Feed the cable from the head down the fixed connector as shown in pictures 4 and 5.

Turn the assembly over and add a type E screw to secure the head as illustrated in picture 6. Now feed the head cable through to the front circuit board and place the cable into the socket marked 2, picture 7.

Unplug the LED cable 5 from the left shoulder assembly, picture 8. Feed the cable down the fixed connector and connect it to the circuit board connector marked 5, pictures 9 and 10. Do the same with the LED cable number 8 from the right shoulder assembly, connecting it to the circuit board marked 8, picture 11.

That completes part 1 of the assembly for this issue.

The Torso and the Head Part 2

Select the two longer LED cables and place the labels number 4 and 7 about 3cm from the end with the smaller plug on, picture 12. Feed the cables, number 4 from the left shoulder and number 7 from the right shoulder down the fixed connector to the circuit board as you did with the previous cables. Connect both the cables to their retrospective numbers on the circuit board, pictures 13 and 14.

Take the shorter cables and place the labels 11 and 12 that came in issue 35 onto them as you did before, picture 15.

Feed the number 11 cable through the hole in the side as shown in picture 16 and feed it to the circuit board placing the cable into the number 11 socket, picture 17. Feed the right-hand cable number 12 in the same way, connecting it to the circuit board, picture 18. Picture 19 shows how the cable look when complete.

Being careful not to trap or twist any cables, fit the back onto the front, picture 20.

Prepare 10 type H bolts by putting a serrated washer on each one, picture 21.
