Issue 20 Part 1

Picture 1 shows the parts for this issue.

This issue is quite fiddly and will need a bit of patience when fitting the heat protection sheets.

Start by connecting the exhaust section (20A) from this issue to the exhaust section you put together in the last issue, picture 2. Secure the two parts together using 3 x UP screws, picture 3. Place the metal clamp (20F) and push it over the mounting place on the exhaust, picture 4.

Now this is the fiddly bit. Using a pair of scissors and a ruler, cut three squares of 6cm x 6cm and one rectangle of 6cm x 8.5cm, picture 5. On the lighter coloured side of two 6 x 6cm sheets, apply some double-sided tape to them as shown in picture 6.

Carefully wrap each one to one of the manifolds. The sheets are quite fragile, so don’ t over handle them too much. Cut off any excess with a craft knife, picture 7.

Do the same with the next section, using the larger sheet in the longer exhaust section, picture 8.

That completes part 1 of this assembly.

Issue 20 Part 2

Clear the sheet from the probe mounting holes, pictures 9 and 10. Push fit the probes (20B) in place, picture 11. Now add the bracket (20C), picture 12.

Retrieve the engine assembly and add the ne exhaust assembly by attaching the two pipe flanges to the cylinder head, securing them in place using 6 x UP screws, pictures 13 and 14.

Align the free hole in the bracket with the corresponding hole in the engine casing and secure in place using a UP screw, picture 15.

Finally, insert a ZM screw through the outer hole of the clamp and tighten it together, picture 16.

Picture 17 shows the complete assembly for this issue.
