STAGE 81:

Front crossbar.

Pic 1: Slide the bracket 81F over the strap 81D.

Pic 2: Stick one of the self-adhesive tabs 81H to the end of the strap.

Pic 3: Remove the backing from the tab and fold the strap over the bracket as shown.

Pic 4: Repeat with the other bracket 81F at the other end of the strap.

Pic 5: Stick another tab 81H in the centre of the strap and position the hook 81G as shown.

Pic 6: Remove the backing and fold the strap in half, trapping the bracket in place.

Pic 7: Retrieve the main assembly and press-fit the two end brackets into the holes in the front floor where indicated.
Make sure the central hook on the strap is facing down.

Pic 8: Retrieve the spare wheel from the previous stage and fit it in place.
Secure it with the front strap just fitted, and the strap from the bulkhead just behind the spare wheel.

Pic 9: Assemble the crossbar 81A and end brackets 81C as shown and fix with 1 x AOM screw in each.

Pic 10: Fit the assembly into the front of the car as shown and fix with 2 x AM screws.

Pic 11: Fit the covers 81E and 81B in place and fix from underneath with 2 x AM screws in each.

NOTE: This is extremely fiddly as access to the fixing holes is very limited.
You may be advised to glue the covers in place before turning the model over to fit the screws.
This is at the builder’s discretion.

Store the model safely for now.
