I thought it was about time That I updated my build diary, I apologise for not doing so sooner but I became so wrapped up in my modelling that time just flew by and I didn't even think about taking any pictures. I will make more effort to do so in future. As can see, I am going for the Victory painted version, points I realise are: 1. I know that the yellow ocre does not follow the lines of the wales as I have painted her so far ( I am hoping that there will be some guidance on the painting of the hull later) 2. The black continues above the upper wale, but I will not touch that until I have finished cutting the gun ports on the poop deck, plus the gunwales. 3. I will paint the lower hull with the copper paint once I have some indication as to how far below the lower wale it is to the water line? That's enough waffle, so here are the pic's. Please comment, whether good or bad. TIS [ IMG]http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x135/TIS_05/SN850328.jpg[/IMG] Next phase is to start on the main deck, finished trimming the rib frames last night.

Hi Tiswaz.
Nice looking build. I do see however that you have drilled the rope holes in the upper row of gun ports, the magazine though only said the lower to rows.
Hope this is not going to be a problem for you.
Regards
Foz

Looks like you've been very busy indeed, the rope holes that shouldn't be are going to need to be filled. Pardon the pun but your likely to come unstuck having done that amount of painting and considering that the gallery is nowhere near complete, such as the gallery glazing and trims need to be put in place before any painting is done, you might now have bonding problems.

Thanks Foz, Tomick for pointing that out , filled and sorted . I realise the gallery is a long way from completion, so have just done the french blue as a base coat because of the glazing and mouldings that are to follow. It would have been difficult I think to apply the paint after they have been fitted, as for adhesion, a light rub with the old emery board will give it enough of a key.

Hi Johny, I am using the Victory paints purchased from CMB (acryllics, washes for the upper gun deck, then one coat clear varnish). Will do the 1/4 deck with two washes wood (walnut) brown, then varnish after rub down. On the hull, two wahes yellow ochre and the black is from the pot. Will fine sand all before the final coats are applied.

Have fallen even further behind now, have not been able to work on her since end of June. I was put on some BP tablets and about 7/10 days later the skin on both my hands started to blister and peel off. Stopped taking them, saw my Dr who put me on some different ones and low and behold they brought me out in a rash all over my body...ArgHHHHH! After several visits to the surgery and trying out different steroid creams and ointments, I was referred to the Dermatology clinic at the local hospital only to be told that the appointment couldn't be before 9/11??? (this was three weeks ago), too long, so went private in the end. saw the Dermatologist within 5-Days, got a different lot of treatment and thank goodness, it is now clearing up. Will give it another week before I commence my build and hopefully will post some pics. Have been following all the prominent builds with interest and can't wait to restart. TIS
