Hi starting to build canons to deviate away from hull for a while

downloaded instructions but photo shows wide end of base at front BUT written instructions says wide end of base to rear

which is correct?? can anyone help Ta

think same issue with Vic canons but cannot find how this was resolved

the side trucks i have recieved also look different to that in photo
curved at bottom and predrilled holes for axles????
