Issue 31 - Contains a rear left tyre; and has instructions for attaching the rear wheel spacers to the rear wheel, and fitting the rear tyre.

This assembly is similar to that of issue 13, where you fitted spacers and tyres to both front wheels, therefore I'm not going to repeat the process.
This time, the assembly involves fitting one of the sets of rear spacers (supplied with issue 13) to the rear wheel (supplied at issue 30), marked with an 'R'.
Don't forget to cut the four temporary pins from the spacers once they have been fitted to the wheel, and to take note of the correct way round of the tyre fits upon the wheel for its correct rotation.

That's it for this week, carefully store the wheel and remaining real wheel spacers.

Future issues:

Issue 32 - Contains assorted electric circuit parts, circuit base, screws and the injector cover rear panel; and has instructions for Stage 1 of the injector unit assembly.

Issue 33 - Contains the injector cover & left/right induction box halves; and has instructions for Stage 2 of the injector unit - Attaching the rear panel to the injector cover, assembling the induction box.

Issue 34 - Contains the left-hand upper & lower engine cover's and gold reflectors; and has instructions for preparing and attaching the gold reflectors to the injector unit.

Issue 35 - Contains the right-hand upper and lower engine cover; and has instructions for Stage 2 of assembling the engine cover

Issue 32 - Contains assorted electric circuit parts, circuit base, screws and the injector cover rear panel; and has instructions for Stage 1 of the injector unit assembly.

Separating the parts from the sprue - Carefully cut the parts from the sprue, and ensure that you cut along the blue dotted line indicated in the step 1 photo, (only three of part #2 are required).

I found after cutting part #4 from the sprue there was slight removal of silver paint at the cut, which would be visible once the part was installed, this can be resolved with the slightest touch of silver paint at the spot, the same applies to the red of the #2 parts, those the #2 parts can be glued into position so that the cut mark faces inwards and wont be visible.

Add the circuit base to the rear panel - The circuit base fits onto the injector cover, align the two prongs and holes and glue the circuit base in place. Then glue the three bushes into their corresponding holes.

Add the circuits to the rear panel - These are added as per the indications shown in the steps; do a dry fit for where each item is located before gluing into place, and be very careful when applying glue so as not to apply too much.

That's it for this week, carefully store the engine/gearbox assembly.

Future issues:

Issue 33 - Contains the injector cover & left/right induction box halves; and has instructions for Stage 2 of the injector unit - Attaching the rear panel to the injector cover, assembling the induction box.

Issue 33 - Contains the injector cover and left/right induction box halves; and has instructions for Stage 2 of the injector unit - Attaching the rear panel to the injector cover, assembling the induction box.

Attaching the rear panel to the injector cover - Dry-fit the injector panel onto the injector cover, then glue the panel into place ensuring that it aligns upon the cover as shown in the steps.

Assembling the induction box - Dry-fit the two halves of the induction parts together and securely tape the two halves together, (if using a liquid ABS solvent glue, apply it to the inside joint line so that it flows along the joint by capillary action, be careful not to apply too much so that it seeps out the opposite side).

Fit the induction box on top of the injector cover so that its rear end is hooked under the protruding injector panel duct.
Then secure the induction box to the injector cover with four type 'E' screws (from issue 32), being careful not to overtighten them.

That's it for this week, carefully store the assembly.

Future issues:

Issue 34 - Contains the left-hand upper & lower engine cover's and gold reflectors; and has instructions for preparing and attaching the gold reflectors to the injector unit.

Issue 34 - Contains the left-hand upper & lower engine cover's and gold reflectors; and has instructions for preparing and attaching the gold reflectors to the injector unit.

Preparing the gold reflectors - Turn both face down and gently rule pencil lines on the reverse surface 10mm from each end of the white backing paper.

Take a reflector between your fingers and thumbs and gently wrinkle and twist it at a point about a third of the way along the strip.
The metallic strip will gradually soften and start to separate from its backing paper.(Make sure the ends that you marked remains firmly in contact with the backing paper).
Work your way slowly along the reflector, wrinkling the surface until the whole of it is crumpled and starting to separate from its backing paper - apart from the ends you marked.

Repeat the process with the second reflector strip, then carefully cut both strips along the two pencil lines.

Attaching the reflectors to the injector unit - Take the injector unit that you assembled in issue 33, and check the positions of the gold reflectors. They go on the flat areas of each side, so that they fit between the two rounded ends and just below the red line.
Peel off the backing paper and gently place the gold foil in position, lining it up as mentioned, gently press the foil into place, taking care not to smooth out the wrinkled/crumpled effect.;

Use scissors or a very sharp blade to very carefully slice away any surplus foil beyond the edge of the injector unit moulding, then repeat the process with the second reflector on the opposite side of the unit.

That's it for this week, carefully store the assembly.

Future issues:

Issue 35 - Contains the right-hand upper and lower engine cover; and has instructions for Stage 2 of the engine covers.

Issue 36 - Contains the underbody, panel covers and flip-up supports, and has instructions for Stage 1 of assembling the underbody -Preparing the left and right panel covers, attaching the panel covers to the underbody.

Issue 37 - Contains the left & right rear skirt and rear underbody panel, and has instructions for Stage 2 of the underbody - Attaching the rear underbody panel.

Issue 38 - Contains the left and right gearbox cowl supports; and has instructions for attaching the gearbox cowl supports.

Issue 35 - Contains the right-hand upper and lower engine cover; and has instructions for Stage 2 of assembling the lower engine covers.

Attaching the injector unit to the engine - Take the engine/gearbox and test fit the injector unit onto the two projecting lugs on top of the engine block, then apply superglue to the lug contact points and press the parts together.

Attaching the lower engine covers - Carefully remove the type 'E' screw that holds the forward end of the upper wishbone to the top of the gearbox, (take care not to damage the small pin which locates the end of the arm).
Fit the left lower engine cover around the lower wishbone. The rear supper corner of the cover has a recessed area that matches the end of the suspension arm you just unscrewed, carefully fit this under the suspension arm.
Refit and tighten the screw you removed, so that the suspension arm traps the top of the lower engine cover.

Then repeat the process with the right lower engine cover.

The lower engine covers may appear a little loose at this stage, do not be concerned about this, as the covers will be fixed rigidly when you install the underbody in a later issue.

That's it for this week, carefully store the assembly and the remaining right-hand upper engine cover.

Future issues:

Issue 36 - Contains the main underbody, left/right panel covers and flip-up supports, and has instructions for Stage 1 of assembling the underbody -Preparing the left and right panel covers, attaching the panel covers to the underbody.

Issue 39 - Contains the front underbody and the right & left underbody panel covers; and has instructions for Stage 4 of assembling the underbody - fitting the panel covers and joining the underbody sections.
