Hi all,
Just a quick question for interests sakes. How many ships boats does this particular Victory have in total? From the other versions of Victory I see what looks like five. We already built the launch, yet the pictures only appear to show two.
Thoughts?
Kind regards, Francois

Kind regards, Francois I think the real thing has something like six, although I imagine we will have maybe 2 or 3 on the model. I've noticed that in the pictures of the finished job the launch isnt on the skid beams - maybe its optional to place it there? I might make a seperate diorama for it Tom

Hi Jonny Remember the Victory had 6 boats at the time of Trafalgar in 5 different sizes. See page 6 of issue 86 The reason I would like to know what Deag is planning is beause this may be another project for Mike (MWG) to look into. Or I may have to scatch build. What you see in the pictures doesn't appear to mean anything.

MWG wrote:Hi Team, I have a possible supply of resin ships boats, if needed Regards Mike are those the jotika/caldercraft ones mike. if so they are much, much better than artesania metal ones, but really only look good if painted, for those staining they are not ideal. i think i'll wait and see what's to come, but for anyone who is painting then you can add planking to parts of the resin, which once painted can look ok. these are on cornwall boats i assume these are the ones you mean mike, obviously these are 1/64 scale http://www.cornwallmodel...g/caldercraft_boats.htmlCome on you Jimmies

Hi Bob you can plank the resin boat, using the boat as a former, same as you can with a metal boat Regards Mike MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Hi Shipmates! We know what is to come up to issue 106, thanks to Tomicks Official Build Diary, this will leave 14 issues that we don't know about. In these 14 issues we have to finish the dummy guns, fit the rest of the sails, finish the rest of the rigging, make another anchor & fitting the 4 anchors, the ship’s crew?, the flags, get the part to make the removable gun deck diorama and some other small part to finish. That’s a lot to fit into 14 issues, the extra boats are starting to look unlikely to appear! there has been no word from admin about the other boats. So it looks like we only get the 1 boat, I hope I'm wrong! or I'll have to make some to finish the ship. Darron

Hot off the press....
Issue 109 contains parts to build the 18ft Cutter, which is the smallest of the ships boats, and is constructed on similar lines to the previously supplied 34ft Launch, this issue also contains the parts which make up the Figurehead.
