ISSUE 38 MAIN HATCHWAY COVER I decided to build this piece of Deck furniture,I intend to make sure it is not glued to the deck untill the Hull is second planked. I stained to 300mm x 7mm x 2mm and started to cut into lengths, the deck opening on my ship is 56mm x 43mm, I cut all pieces 10mm longer because I am mitering the corners, not straight like the instructions. In the last photo two strips have been stuck together to form the lip to fit over the Deck, and the lip to take all the cover planks, for both sides. ISSUE 38 MAIN HATCHWAY COVER The frame was not stuck to the deck at this stage prefering to put it safe in a draw while second planking the Hull. Ditto what Trev says Mike. From reading these Endeavour postings I think you have taken what is obviously a load of inferior quality parts and turned it all into a very neat and tidy looking work of art. Love the colour of the decking by the way, looks just about right !! Sterling stuff mate, well done you for persevering and I continue to watch with interest !! Kev.
