Hi shipmates,
after completing issue #47 I did a first check how the 10 cannons of the upper gun deck would fit. And it turned out that either my cannons are too high or the gunports are too low:

Also the ribs interfear with the front wheels (1) so I cannot get the cannons much trough the gunport or center them to make them look like on the image in Tomicks Official Build Diary here.

Did anybody have the same problem ? Would shall I do ?
The only thing I can think of at the moment is to remove the wheels and sand the carriages down a bit. But the carriage is almost on the ground....... (2) Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers Timm

Hi Mr Q sorry to see u have hit a prob canon needs to be lower or gunport made bigger are your home made wheels slightly bigger than those supplied maybe you could remove the cannon and cocktail stick that goes thru it and file a recess into the top of the truck sides where it sits or remove a couple of mm from the top of sides so barrel sits slightly lower will be looking forward to your solution

Hi Budgie, budgie wrote: are your home made wheels slightly bigger than those supplied Meanwhile I am using the wheels that came with the magazine. The changes I did to the first 12pounder did not turn out well. And the carriages almost touch the ground, pretty much all of them. I am wondering how this could have happened? Hi Timm, I had the same problem and I landed up filing the wheels of the cannon flat at the bottom to lower the cannon enough...once the quarter deck is fitted above the gun deck, it is difficult to see where I filed the wheels flat...I hope that this gives you another angle of thought on the matter...happy building mate...

You could consider lowering the trunion slots in the carriage which would drop the cannon down

This is what I did to get mine in the correct position. Go slowly though you don't need to lower them by much You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

hi timm this was a bit of a big discussion a while ago, with quite a few of us having this problem, i ended up filing down the trunion groove, and flattening the wheels, then didnt like that so took the wheels off and moved them up. i think filing a bigger trunion groove would be the best for you as you dont want to damage those wheels of yours. Come on you Jimmies

Sorry, seems like I overlooked that one. Thanks to all of you guys for those hints. Fortunately I haven't completed all the 12 pounders I have received, so maybe I can adjust those to my "lower" upper gun deck.
Cheers Timm
