Hi Tom!  The tiles look great on the painted version, it adds so much to the overall look of the ship, when she's done people will say WOW!  It makes me want to build the Victory all over again, this time paint it! and tile it! Caldercraft HMS Victory would be nice, I think I'll start saving when this partwork is over.

Very nice Tom, but those edge tiles are going to be taxing Overall a very nice example You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

Thanks guys, It's time for little update. I have reached dificult part of the tiling. I didn't start the tiling as per instructions (first layer of tiles at water line then start from the kill). I've chosen more dificult (and I think it looks much better) way. Let me show you what I mean. 1.  As you can see to finish it off I need to cut to size many little bits of copper plates. I was thinking how to do it quite quickly and most importantly accurate. I came up with an idea. I put some blu tack just above water line and I stuck some tiles in position using to the blu tack I put before. 2.  After that I put masking tape following the water line. 3.  4.  Next you need to use sharp pencil and draw the line on tiles following the masking tape. 5.  Once this is complete, remove tiles one by one, cut on the pencil mark and stick back using propper glue. That's the end result and I'm very pleased with it :) 6.  7.  I hope I made it clear enough Happy modelling

How did you find doing the keel? That's a bit of a challenge.
Do you find that the more you do the easier it gets?

tf64 Thanks mate It is difficult to say how long. Some areas are fairlyeady to finish off, others needs quite long time to do nicely. In the middle hull I just covered some part of it in glue and applied tiles one by one. It was quick but when you get to the more curved areait takes ages because you need to bend each tile and dry fit them few times before sticking with glue. Overall it isn't quick job :-)

Hi I'm back I had a plan to finish off copper on one side last week. I managed to only partly accomplish this task. It's nearly done (one side), still other side to do and I'm sick of copper already  1.  2.  3.  4.

copper tiles looking fantastic tom. i personaally did not like the straight line of tiles in the instructions, great build tom keep up the good work. Ian Current builds.Hachettes build the bismark,HMS Victory, HMS Hood.

Guys i notice that people keep asking about time frames for tileing of the hull, there are several factors to consider here your experience at doing this sort of tileing [ ie beginer doing his 1st model compared to an experienced builder]secondly once you start you gotta finish it, this can go two ways either you will love every second of the tileing proccess or a realization that this might be the end of you as the nightmares of tiles chasing you round the model. This of course could lead to alkahol dependance, strange behaviour ,muttering to yourself eccetera and finaly being lead to the ambulance by the guys in white coats. I guess what in trying to say is everyone will have there own time factor to attach the tiles and so asking someone else 'how long did it take you' can be a false indicator.
