In front of the Captains cabin (rear partition on your model) is a companionway to the Admirals dining room. There is nothing included in the kit for this but I have decided to make the cover as seen on the Victory today, and its not hard at all... To make the cover you will need a strip of 4x1.5mm cut to the following lenghts 4 x 8mm 2 x 17mm 2 x 12mm and a panel pin Step 1. take one of the 17mm strips and glue the 4 8mm lengths along one adge as per pic below: step 2. once dry gently sand theends level of the 8mm strips and glue the secound 17mm strip as per pic below Step 3. ensure both ends are level and glue the 12mm strips to each end step 4. Once dry gently sand all sides till smooth. sand the frame down to about 2-2.5mm deep so the lid is not to proud on the deck. finaly drill a gide hole for the pin. cut pin to 2mm long and glue into hole Job done. all pictures authors collection. “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Position of the cover is in front of the rear cabin partition (supplied in your kit as a solid piece of wood. As per my pic above. If you can hold on a few days I will be laying out the cabin area over Xmas there is also a chang to the partition positions as they are to far forward. “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain
