Hi

Below I have posted some photos comparing the Kyosho MP4/23 and an Amalgam MP4/22 1/4 scale steering wheels.

First impressins are pretty good, appart from the Kyosho not having carbon decals on all surfaces there is not much to choose between them. The difference becomes apparent as soon as you handle them, the Amalgam weighs in at 144g (thanks to its solid diecast construction) and the Kyosho at just 19g.

The Amalgam is on the left and Kyosho on the right.

Hope you all had a great christmas and I would like to wish everyone on Model Space a happy new year.

Mine turned up today with the next month's supply of parts.

I knew it was 1/4 scale but was expecting it to be bigger for some reason.
From your pics it is lesser quality from the Amalgam but as it's a freebie not too bad.

I recieved mine today and i knew what size would be like as it does say 1/4 scale but even before i opened that black plastic bag i thought well it cant be in this batch as not that heavy. my thoughts when i opened it up and had the steering wheel in my hand went straight to that same model space/deag quote, (weighty). thought it was gonna be die cast not all plastic. bit disapointed.

Mine has just arrived, to say Im dissapointed is an understatement. I along with others, thought that it would be better, and as for it being free, total rubbish, nothing is for free, its all built in the price !!!!!!

DeAgostini, in my opinion, let themselves down by producing a fantastic model and then palm us off with rubbish "freebies", Im very dissapointed !!!

I have to agree.
A cheapo, flimsy 'toy' that wouldn't 'grace' ANY collection.
There's even a recess in the base for a name plate, I presume.... Where is it?????

on a brighter note, its a great chance for my son to start "practicing" for the future!

The pictures at the show the difference - Amalgam one wins by a country mile.

I too had expected something a bit more weighty. Won't be showing this is the display case with the car.

If the Amalgam wheel was 50p it would still be double the value of the freebie piece of junk.
Mine went out in the garage with the oddments in my 'kit spares/junk' box.

Your right Skiddy £50 to £60 and for that amount of money you would expect somthing special, I am happy with my wheel, my grandson loves it(maybe he will want to be a F1 driver) I did not have huge expectations, because it is a free item.

I would have been more concerned if the Mclaren had not been the quality it is.

Have a great New Year

Best wishes

Mike
