i dry fitted this using the steps in the magazine, the 2mm hole was a nice tight fit but when i then tried to pull it out to glue it in place the bottom broke off. this has led me to a modification that i think works better and makes for a stronger, less fragile join. i made a new jackstaff then drilled a 3mm hole through the bees and support this time i did not carve out the 2mm end piece but left it at 3mm i them glued it in place.it seems to hold better and once we rig the ship it will provide a much stronger support for the rigging block and thread. of course this is only my thought, but i feel its worth putting up on the forum as i am sure others will break the extremly fragile bottom end off. i've found that after staining the masts and spars that the wood seems to become slightly softer which i think is the reason that the bottom end snapped off so easily. If there is space to fit without weakaning the part then that sounds like an improvment to me. I will do that, thanks for the tip “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

jase the bees are 7mm wide so there is enough space there, the supports are 3mm so its a bit tight but the way it fits there are no noticable problems at least i can't see any on mine if i can get one of the kids to take a pic i'll post something up. Come on you Jimmies
