The report also reveals that the planes won't be able to fire the missiles we want either!

Rob how does that sum up the MOD?

They did not design it. They opted for a future aircraft that has now shown after testing some issues, that is the whole point of testing. It is now up to the aircraft designers to come up with a solution for putting this right, not the MOD.

Bob

[quote]The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has refused to comment on the leaked report but a spokesmen told the newspaper that defence secretary Philip Hammond has discussed the issue with the U.S government.

The spokesman insisted that Britain 'remains committed to purchasing the carrier variant of the JSF.'[quote]

Also the very fact that we have been left without carrier aircraft in an age where they have become an absolute neccessity & the fact that the MoD also sold an aircraft carrier to a sabre rattling nation who wish to turn it into a "hotel" along with the one they bought from the Russians.

Its a UK purchase, in which case the aircraft must meet UK requirements, though it now seems the aircraft has a design flaw in that that it does not currently meet at least two of the requirements which will take time to put right.
Considering that our first carrier is not due to enter service until 2020, I dare say the matter will have been put right by then, though a damp squib for the second carrier which will more than likley be mothballed.

Lets hope nothing major comes up in the meantime LOL
