can anyone tell me what the blue parts that look like folded plastic bags are that come with the final wheel and tyre?

i have been looking on future issues and was just wondering if they were tyre blankets

BigGrin Hi Stan,

When the second tyre and wheel was released, some people received tyres where there was an apparent whitish bloom present on the surface of the rubber which left the second tyre looking paler than the first. If I remember correctly Kyosho, who make this kit for DeAgostini said that it was due to an incorrect procedure with the release agent used in the moulds during manufacture and that this bloom can be negated by coating the tyres in a silicone oil. I believe an amount of silicone oil will be provided in the issue with the bags and the blue bags are for placing the tyres in, in order to coat the tyres with the oil. When all tyres have been treated they will all look the same shade of black. Hope that helps and it is a shame that they aren't tyre warmers as you suggest !!

im just using my old cb handle from the 90s lol(stan the man)
i also think it would be a good idea to as i was planing to wait and see if after the build was finished if they would allow me to purchase a few extra full sets of wheels so i could put the rellivant colour stripes on for soft compound and inters ect.

BigGrin No worries Glen, glad to help. You could try ordering back issues for the ones with the wheels and tyres included but that would work out expensive for a whole set or keep your eye on ebay where they will no doubt turn up and be a lot cheaper !! Nice idea about the compounds and you could always have a go at making some tyre warmers, jacks, etc ??

I have been trying to get on this forum for months.
Every time I logged on it would not recognise my name. So I just read the forums and looked at the pics.
But on seeing your post about needing the first issue (on my phone) I decided to try and log in one more time. And heypresto it worked.BigGrin
So I can now stop looking in with my nose pressed against the window. And post more and join in on the build.Drool

So what im trying to say is iv got a spare 1st issue if you need it.

If you pm me I could get it posted out to you.

Ps sorry about spelling if there are any mistakes as I have had to do this on my phone Blink
