Hi All,

I am up to issue 83 and I was wondering, would you recommend varnishing the top decks at this point, it has not said so in the magazine (unless I have missed it) but I can see I might not get such a good finish once I have added the canons and stairs.

Thanks again

JAW

me too, once you have got the decks as you want them get them sealed, add the details then give another coat and so on 3 or 4 coats of varnish wont hurt plus its a dust repellent if your wood is still slightly rough even with a stain the dust will get caught up
cheers benny

Hi,

new to this type of modeling but I presume that the wood needs to be varnished or oiled,

should this be done as the stages progress or left to the end,

thanks,

Ger

Hi Ger C. As Benny and Jase have said do it as you are going along. The more coats the less dust can settle into cracks. Hope this helps

Thamks guys

I will varnish my upper decks tonight. After I have made the thirty four posts for the timber heads. Is it just me or is getting harder and harder to keep up.
