useing elestic bands in stead of pins, pulls the plank in and up at the same time the pins at the top of the planks were only used to stop the top plank sliding up at the begining

ISSUE 23

Hi everyone, I have completed ISSUE 23 and I would like to address people who have subscibed to this partwork, but as yet have not commenced building.

I have found when building this Great ship, there are things we need to do. When fitting the planks in this issue, we should shamfer the edge of each plank as it butts up to the next plank, this gives a better fit.

when fitting the planks, which go around the hull and underneath the hull,we should taper the planks in order to avoid a clinkering effect, also this stops any strain on the frame.

I believe these are points which could have been covered in more detail in the insructions.

I am including a range of photos, which I hope will help you in your build.

Questions and comments are welcomeBigGrin

Mike she is definitely looking like Hood now, can't wait to get my issues 20 - 23 in the post this week. Its looking really good and the planking is looking tidy. Hopefully i can keep mine that way, been a while since i planked a hull.

Thanks Virtue, please make sure when you start to plank the Hull at ISSUE 22 that you put the first row of planks below the notch, not on the notch as it states in the instructionsBigGrin Regards MikeBigGrin Cool

ISSUE 23

Hi Team as you are aware by now there are some instructions in this partwork which do not give clear build directions, and can be open to misinterpretationBlink and I am sure we will have more of this as the build progresses. Remember decks 104 and 105?

I will endeavour to highlite areas of concern every weekBigGrin ,so you who have not started the build yet, can steer around them.

One area I had to adjust is where the deck meets parts 116 and 117 I had to trim the tops of these parts, at the point at which the knife I am holding in the Photo meetsBigGrin you may not need to do this, but I am giving you the heads up,so you can watch out for itBigGrin

Question and comments welcomeBigGrin Regards MikeBigGrin
