I am offended by this post, posted on the Partwork Forum by SnapDragon, his suggestion that Artesania product is somehow inferior and less enjojable to build, when it is clear to see in the Forum which he posted the remarks,that many are enjoying the build of Deag`s ships as they are in MS and around other modelship forums. The Hood by Amarti is not exempt of problems,there are no instructions to fair the frames,or taper the planks, let alone Issue 22 error of telling the customer to start planking in the wrong place!and no reference to putting a bevel on the side of the planks so it will but up to the plank next to it. What I am saying is no manufacturer is perfect, but it is interesting to see that he first slagged off MS members and has now taken to slagging Artesania/ Deag`s ships. Sorry here it is snapdragon » Mon Feb 27, 2012 1:30 pm For those down under trying to make a decision between Zero, Akagi, Victory etc. Remember that Deags model ships come from artesia latina, not Amati and so are not the quality you would expect. For those wishing to build HMS Victory, then I would more than recommend Jotika's Nelsons Navy 1/72 HMS Victory. I know that it is expensive and you have to buy the model outright, but it is the most detailed and accurate model of this ship available. It will take up a large space when built and deserves a case, but is a show stopper for dinner guests both under construction and finished. I would recommend that you all go for the zero and wait for Hachette to release the Hood Down under ( a nice companion for your Bismarcks). Hachette do have the WWII italian Battleship Roma out in Italy and I am trying to get my dirty little paws on it, but with no success at the moment! I will guarentee that you will have more fun building the Zero than Deags ships! I know that perhaps the Artesania is not the best model victory out there, and that the caldercraft/joitika is renowned for it's attention to detail, but even that model has its faults. Compared to the del prado one, ours is a work of art. The model apart, the magazine we get is well written and all the information given in the step by step instuctions has enabled even me to build something i never thought i could so well done to Atesania and well done to deagostini. I don't understand this snapdragon guy at all. Come on you Jimmies

Sadly the world is full of hollier than thou people, the so called elitist who through their own arrogance, cant appreciate the good and bad of other things. We make these models for enjoyment and personal pleasure in the accomplishment. Thats what its all about at the end of the day. Doesn't matter who the manufacturer is, if you want to build it, you build it. Which one you build is personal preference. How the model ends up always comes down to some personal choices anyway. I agree Bob & Mike. Thanks for sharing this, don't know whether to laugh or cringe,  Current Builds:

It seems a little daft to post comments like that on these forums, if you don't like De Agonstini's products, then don't come here. It is really pretty simple.
Let's be honest, the Victory looks gorgeous and the vast majority of people won't know what is and isn't accurate when looking at it anyway.

Simple fact is that there isn't a Victory kit which is totally accurate, indeed some are better than others, but even the real ship currently has inaccuracy for being at Trafalgar, such as the Prince of Wales plume which adorn's the stern, which was not in place at the time of Trafalgar.
The plume was salvaged from HMS Prince (also at Trafalgar) and it appeared on Victory in 1837.

mr snapdragon shoud have a look at the akagi. my first parts arrived today, a few weeks late, but nonetheless they are here now. i am very very impressed with the quality of these parts which i assume are by artesania latina since thats what it says on the paintbrushes ..yes paintbrushes...you even get a flat file and a bit of glue to be going on with, the parts are all well packaged, and if this is what the rest of the parts are like it is going to be a high quality build. high quality parts that is...not builder Come on you Jimmies

And another thing Bob Amati have not included pin nails in there Kit of HMS Hood, what is a new person to do when the instructions do not explain this.
